It seems that the hitbox for his turret is a bit messed up. I have been playing vissali recently and because Bush is on free rotation I am coming across a lot of turrets and with vissali’s sniper rifle cannot seem to hit it no matter where I aim. Has anybody else come across this? Is it a known problem that is being fixed?

I dislike the destruction animation, once they die, they stay there for a few seconds before they explode, but in the heat of battle it is often hard to tell if you finished it or not. It needs to be instant, the guy that decided on a little electrical short animation needs a serious rebriefing.
Unrelated I know, but my complaint wasn’t really worth the time it would take to search for the right thread, or start a new one. I just thought I would throw it in there.
As for your issue, I cannot say, I rarely play Vassili, he is not enough merc for my desire to incinerate the other team
Although I would say, there are much better mercs for taking turrets down, as a one shot bot, you are better suited to taking players down instead (no matter how useful it might be for your team, if they are dying to turrets, they need to learn how to counter them on their own, without help).
I tend to shoot where the legs meet the turret box. It dies pretty easy then.
