Anyone got any tips in how to play bushwhacker effectively on offence?
Bushwhacker on Attack?
Use the turret to defend objective/ objective area, put an end to enemy pushes, defend an attack path (like the building with a generator in Terminal for example)
Flank. Use the turret as a form of DPS and cover. Carry the objective at the end of chapel/bridge, place it to cover your plant from bullets and keep the enemy heads down.
Find tricksy spots for the turret really. He is just like any other merc as far as fights/flanking goes. One thing I like to do is try and get near one of their spawn routes out and place the turret behind some bit of cover. Distracts them and lets you know when they kill it/it shoots so you can ambush when they turn to fight it. He is fairly good at pushing the generator on Bridge and keeping the enemy off of attacking the ev(airstrikes not included) by flanking well on chapel.
Underground you can place the turret on the roof in such a way it covers the door so people get shot coming to defuse if they don’t clear the roof first. It is also early warning of enemies on the roof in that case.
Fairly generic stuff. The only think he really lacks is speed and in combat versatility.
- Pray that your teammates push the enemy behind the objective.
- Plant/Repair objective.
- Place turret to defend plant.
If 1. is a yes win.
If 1. is a no die alot trying to achieve 2./3.
If the stars align you get a plant through you might still win.
Otherwise you loose, repeat “don’t be a dick, don’t be a dick” while internaly blaming your stupid teammates for not pushing the enemy back and instead camping 2 corners before the objective in fear of ruining their precious K/D.
Atleast thats how I usualy play Bushwhacker on offense.
In all seriousness tho, pretty much what the rest said focus on the objective use the turret to cover the plant and or flanking routes.
Alos use the turret as a distraction the enemy has to fight before they reach you, will only hold a second but that second could mean the difference between getting shutdown (love those new engineering themed badges btw.) or planting.
You just need to find sneaky places that let you use his turret for crossfire rather than just doing its own thing. If you literally put it right where you are standing like 90% of bushwhackers do, you’ll have no chance of doing any good with him.
I played Bush over 180 hours, done 25k kills.
There are some maps/places where Bush is good at offense.
But except Underground first phase Attacker(has much better turret placement than Defender), Chapel third phase, Trainyard second phase, Terminal second phase, Dome second/third phase, Bridge second phase needs your team’s fire power to first wipe out the enemies, because you need to set up your turrets at certain spot without enemy’s bother. If your team can’t wipe the enemies out to wait their next spawn wave, better not use him.
Also, I really do not recommend you to use Bush at Underground Second phase Attacker or Bridge Third phase Attacker unless enemies are so noob that you can wipe them out by your own.
This is my shi-tty recording of Bushwhacker Attacker.
Could’ve wiped them out me alone if it wasn’t the KeK-10 nerf long time ago
and yeah, shxtty enough. Done bunch of mistakes that vid. especially hesitating the turret placement after C4.

wait people actually use the default crosshair?
the default crosshair where it changes based on movement even though this game is all about movement?
Find a good place where people camp and flank it, putting a turret where they won’t expect it. One good place is the stairs where people walk to from spawn on Bridge, after the barricade bit.

While i agree that the third part of Bridge makes Bush useless, but the second part of Underground on attacker is my jam. If i got the c4 down, and my turret is up on the yellow pipe on the right, 90% of time the c4 will go off. But after a few nerf to the sentry, now you do need a teammate to cover back on the balcony, ideally a medic.
I have just about 60h in game with the Bushdad and the best way to use his turret is to set a crossfire. If you put the turret in a place where it can soften an enemy for you or your teammates then this is a strong tool. Another way i don’t see people utilize the turret is as recon. You can set it on your flank spots that no one is watching to alert you and to weaken the enemy before you fight them. Most beginners just place the turret in the worst places and expect it to get kills, and when it doesn’t they come to the conclusion that bush is weak.
Oh also SNITCH + turret combo is so good.
Underground - 1st objective: Best place for turret is on the shelf to the left of the main entrance. Double wall jump crouch to get on top and drop it there on a diagonal. Nails people dropping down from the top, the main entrance or the door across from the shelf if they blow the generator.
Also, people never expect it there and I get triple kills from my turret
Also from spawn and going out the left side, the crate just before the left passage to ammo you can get on top of with a double jump crouch. Turret will cover ammo passage exit, the generator, and roof.
My tip also to get an Aimee with you. Snitch + Turret is strong. Like, really strong.
Put the turret into places that intercept the enemy’s routes but arent directly visible (corners n stuff). And use C41 Vanguard.
Edit: yay i got overzealous again and snitch combo has been already said. And i cant delete my comment. Shit.
