Bushwhacker meta - loadout poll (apology - I wrote Extra Supplies instead of Spares)

I actually tried SM43 Strike Operative for two days without using C41.

That loadout is the only one that have both SMG-9 and Lock-On, and it was totally awesome.

But like @ProfPlump mentioned Focus isn’t the only strongest part of C41, you just run out of bullets too quick without Spares.

Also 4 = M9 pistol, 1 = Beckhill knife which is the best secondary + melee weapon set.

If SM43 had Spares instead of Looter, I would definitely agonize which one to choose.

Looter is infinitely better than spares. Looter helps bushwhacker out a lot because he’s a defensive merc and getting ammo/ health packs while defending is helpful.[/quote]

Looter is a fairly awful augment since it only gives you one half of an ammo magazine and the world’s tiniest medpacks, you need to gib 2 fire supports and walk over to pick up the ammo just to get the same benefit you would get simply from spawning with Spares, not to mention how the drops might be in an unreachable position or even get picked up by your enemies. I think they should either increase the amount of ammo/health given, by like twice as much, or just make it so that it magically gives you a little bit of ammo/health from far away just from killing them.[/quote]

Agreed. It’s hilarious to win a firefight only because your opponent has Looter and kills a medic next to you. Slightly less hilarious if roles are reversed :smiley:

“Awful”? Yea that’s a bit too far. I’m not here to tell you looter is inherently better than spares, because it really all comes down to your play style.

The only problem with looter now is that it’s a bit buggy and needs a some mechanic changes.
Firstly, enemies should not be able to pick up the packs, that’s a complete joke and I’m sure if it’s brought to the devs attention it will be changed.

However increasing the amount of ammo/health given is debatable. Receiving a full ammo pack and medic pack(sawbonez) can be a bit to powerful.

I disagree - I think if it were two separate small medbags that spawned for each looter kill of an enemy medic, and two small ammo boxes for each fire support you kill, then that would be fine. And it would actually make the augment noticeable in games, whereas usually you barely notice it at all. It’s a really interesting mechanic, and it should be as good if not better than the standard Unshakeable, Explodydendron, Drilled, Extra Supplies kind of augments that don’t actually ADD anything to the game, they just slightly change the stats.

Similarly, Pineapple Juggler should be made to be viable, as it is a really cool idea that adds something new to the game, and isn’t just a boring old % boost to some specific aspect of a merc.

TBH, I wouldn’t use either of those loadouts, but when it comes down to pistols, Caulden is my favorite.
