Bushwhacker is joining the Party!

(MissMurder) #1

That’s right! Your favorite turret-toting tough guy is here! Bushwhacker rocks at engineering: he’s highly adept at repairing objective vehicles, arming/disarming C4, constructing secondary objectives and he deploys a deadly auto-turret too! Now’s your chance to lock him down with your hard-earned credits.

Meanwhile, Proxy and Fragger’s free play contracts have expired, so we’re swapping in Arty and Sawbones in their place. Give them a big hand, folks. Why not give them a combat try-out today?

For more in-depth, juicy details on Bushwhacker we’ve crafted this video for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Finally! A defensive engineer!

9,99€ / 50k credits? "Micro"transactions.

(MattjA) #4

Ye 50k credits is a bit OP.

(Harlot) #5

30K is barely passable. 50K credits when you’re earning 100-200 an Objective game is laughable at best. Spending cash should be luxury, not a necessity and you guys are going to lose a lot of players with this pricing.

Pricing that seems fair? 20K for all mercs, 30K for a release merc for the first week.

(symmetricalSalad) #6

How to loose player ? make a merc, sell it to 50k / 10 E
Seriously, what do you trying ? You have too many player in this game or what ?

(Szakalot) #7

They’ve got a lot of complaints when prices for mercs (excl. Fragger) were 30k/merc. and I mean A LOT of complaints. So they bumped the earn rate by 30% (not incl. missions). Now the price for a new merc is 50k/merc.

Maybe they will bump up the rates by 30% again? And then we can buy mercs for ~ 75k/merc?

I get it if its a whole new merc (or one of the ‘old ones’ like Sparks, Phantom, etc.) after the release of the game. People don’t have all the mercs yet (from the 15) and a new one costs 50k by comparison. So you can buy your way in to get your hands on the new shiny merc for 50k, or wait until the price drops to normal 30k.

But charging 10$ for a merc we were able to play for free a few months ago, during beta stage of all places, does sound like quite the rip-off tbh. And Bushwhacker… gonna wait and see if his turret got any love before getting this.

(Eox) #8

50k for a merc is way too much. 30k for a merc is also borderline. This was an already debated issue, and there’s still problems with that.

Also, why don’t you guys put newly released mercs in free rotation ? You give us a brand new guy but we can’t touch it. It’s like showing sweets to a kid and then say “you won’t have any”.

(Harlot) #9

I’m just irritated because I feel like I play a ton. I took the time to craft bronze cards for Proxy, Fragger and Skyhammer and bought Arty, who I ended up hating. That’s all I’ve spent and I JUST hit 30K again today. Only to see Proxy and Fragger were taken off rotation and Bushwhacker priced at 50K. So I’ll need another 20+ hours to afford him, or go down to 0 buying Proxy so I can have one merc I enjoy… Pretty shitty position to be stuck in right now.

The prices are just too high for how many credits you can earn and it takes away from the enjoyable gameplay.

Oh you can play him. Just man up and drop $10. You know, a single merc or two meals.

But it’s cool. Only people who played 100+ hours and didn’t spend any credits or cash players can afford Bushwhacker out the gate. Totally legit business model.

Could’ve at least offered a reach around before you guys bent us over.

And good thing there’s a credit penalty now! To slow that earn rate down even more!

I thought the main purpose of having a beta available for the public is to gather data to improve the game, not milk money from the testers. (re-)Releasing a merc that’s behind a massive grind-/paywall is a pretty good way of decreasing the amount of data you’re gathering.

It’s painfully obvious where their priorities lie.

@MissMurder it’s apparent the community feels the pricing is being handled poorly. Can we get a comment on it?

Red eye, Red eye, Red eye! Oi Oi Oi!

(The99thProblem) #14

But seriously mates, the game is still new. So everyone in the game of course has low income/currency. I’m telling you after about 3 months of playing this game you will have tons of money saved up with nothing to do with it. Currently, mercs (and crates/trading up) are the only things cash is spent on; no customizations and no timed purchases. If you got all of your desired mercs in 1 month, what is left to do?

You have to know designs for longevity of consumer activity require a bit of grind for the consumer.

Good luck mates! B)

They want us to use bushwacker yet they are using micro transactions and expensive amounts of virtual money? Why?

(Eox) #16

This is totally counterproductive. It has to be changed fast. New mercs should be put in free rotation for at least a week.

Marketing 101: the current scheme targets early adopters who will be willing to dish out cash or credits to have access to something new and exclusive, even without trying it out first, just so they have it before everybody else. Same principle as for those people who line-up for hours (days?) whenever a new iPhone comes out

(cosmopolitanSponge) #18

@Djiesse awe that is ‘dirty’

(Nail) #19

Bush is likely to be in free rotation very soon
