Okay, I assume that quite a lot of the Dirty Bomb community has played Team Fortress 2 before this game, or at least tried it once. If you did you may have noticed, that the engineer is capable of turning the turret, before placing it. So it is possible to place the turret facing in your direction. Since the turret in this game is so fragile compared to the one in TF2, it’s all the more important to place it in sneaky positions. Sadly the way it is you can’t squeeze the turret completely into a corner, since you have to stay there to place it, and can’t place it into yourself. I couldn’t really believe there wasn’t a suggestion for this already, but apparantly there wasn’t. I’d simply like to have the ability to hold down Q with Bushwhacker to see the “holo-version” of the turret, and being able to turn the turret by 90° per leftclick, while doing so. Releasing Q will build the turret, if possible. With right click you could cancel the placement. Also this will allow you to place the turret better into awkward positions, like in the Window opening in the generator room in the last stage of underground, because you can hold down Q as long as you want and see where the “preview” will actually be able to be placed. (I actually don’t know if you can place it there, but I’ve seen people trying it and failing miserably, lol)

I place a turret in that window on attack shooting out over the plant site. It generally gets 5 kills before they even notice it
From memory, in one patch they made it harder to place the turret (pushed it further away from the player) as a nerf, then cut it back to half as a buff. Im guessing they are pretty happy with it at the moment.
