Bushwacker vs Flecher vs Proxy

(TmGSpade) #1

My merc rotation :
Fragger (Got a cobalt Power Gunner for him and he is just the best merc in my opinion.)
Sparks (I just love the revivr gun. and I am just pretty good with her  )
Now I just have one question. Proxy Vs Bushwacker Vs Flecher.

The biggest question of the century. Who is the best objective specialist?

I actually only played Bush, not the other two but besides proxy, fletcher is too hard to master and Bush got nerfed several times in cluding his Kek and turret… I still perform quite decent with Bush but I think he isn’t just recommendable as before.

So, because of the highest movement speed and insane synergy between mines and objectives, I would say Proxy is the best as specialist. She isn’t really touched for a long time, but mines are so much comfortable and easier to use than turret or stickies.

Anyway, you should spell merc name correctly.

He isn’t Flecher, but FLETCHA.

forget about me also spelled wrong too.

well test them out for yourself is my advise one of them is always in the rotation.

That said, my overview.

Bushwhacker is currently the top engineering pick, he has solid health, good weapons and his turret helps alot in defending your plants and otherwise gives your team a 0.5-1 man advantage.

Proxy’s advantage is that she is fast and can lemming objectives best. But she has a harder time defending her plant and dies alot on the way to them. But if you like agressive Aura like flanking and in your face action she is a great merc.

Fletcher is propably the hardest to play of the 3. That said he is alot of fun if you can handle him. He hinges on the proper stickies use and good flanking. On the upside he can work as a secondary Nader and can be a constant pain in the arse for the opposing team and using the stickies to defend a plant works pretty darn well too.

I’m going to be brutally honest here from a competitive standpoint.

Bushwacker is the best. KEK? Very good. Turret? If placed well, is apparently like a sixth team member.

In pubs though, I kinda have to say he’s bordering on trash. His turret is useless with all those players, and as such he’s just left running around with an SMG.

Proxy and Fletcher are alright, but Proxy gets shutdown with any flank awareness or team grouping, and Fletcher is just straight up not that amazing. Don’t get me wrong, he is deadly, but he’s not top tier or anything.

(TmGSpade) #7

I am Ok at all of them to be honest. Flecher is abit harder for me, and bushwacker I just get mowed down, I once got an ace with proxy but that was just pure luck, other than that I can’t really say much :stuck_out_tongue:

Ill be honest and answer from my point of view. Depends on your play style first of all. Proxy is great for preventing flanks and rush attacking, her mines can be used in many ways you can simply rush in and drop it on a bunch of enemies and just shoot it to manually make it explode, in my opinion proxy is the best for rushing objectives. FLETCHA! is my favorite merc and engineer, you have to master him first. I like the play style of FLETCHA so that is why I pick him, his stickies are great for sticky situation and can be used as traps. Many say FLETCHA is one of the worst mercs, I dont think so if you learn how to play him you will be unstoppable. Bushwhacker is great for comp, pubs he can be good but his turrets are useless with so many enemies. All round bushwhacker is the best engineer if you dont have a specific playstyle, just placing turrets perfectly on chokepoints will guarantee you the true use of bushwhacker.

Have you seen phantom :stuck_out_tongue:

In all seriousness, I really want to thank you guys for helping me decide out which engi should go into my loadout, so Thank you

(I decided to go with bushwhacker because of the ace I got a while ago with him and the role of his character, he is a defensive and sometimes an aggressive support and attacker, which I really like

Thanks once again.

Bushwhacker trash in pubs? Not in my experience. Generally there people aren’t careful enough and run right into the turret’s sight.

I would say proxy because, loadouts with try-hard perk are ideal because if gives here a max of 120 hp, making her tougher than bush and fletcher, Also making her faster.

FYI:
The loadout i currently use for proxy has the Hochfir, the mp400, the stiletto, double time, try hard and pineapple juggler (which i have never pulled off or seen anyone else do so).

GUN VARIETY:
In addition to that, proxy has access to both smgs and shotguns (yes, you could argue the same for fletcher, but lets be honest the blishlock is a sad excuse for an smg). Having access to the remburg and hollunds, she also has access to the hochfir.

MINES BEING BOTH OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE:
Defensive mines are pretty self explanatory, but incase you dont understand just place proxy mines on objectives or around corners were enemies wont see them coming.
Offensive mines; there are two ways to pull this off, suicide mines or flank mines.
SUICIDE MINES: running up to enemies and placing mines then shooting them to make them prematurely explode in the enemies face. The reason they’re called ā€˜SUICIDE MINES’ is because you usually die in the process.
FLANK MINES: Taking the long route around the battlefield, for eg on trainyard on the final stage running around the bridge and entering the delivery zone and throwing mines down.
Flank mines are effective because the enemies wont expect a proxy mine at their feet when they have’nt seen a proxy recently. You can also use the suicide mine tactic and blow the mines at the enemies feet before they notice them arm.

whatever float your boat basically.
there are no definite answer to this question since the class is pretty balanced between the mercs. try all(whenever possible) and use the one who suits you best. or just get them all and have fun rotating between them.

bascially its like asking what to choose between Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche

(TmGSpade) #13

Bushwacker suits me best.

And anyone above level 6? You have about 5 people shooting your turret at once. It ain’t exactly amazing.

(Fuzzy_Wookie) #15

Have not seen many good fletchers(hes hard to master i guess) Bushwackers turret is avoidable, in pubs no1 guards it. Proxy is my fav, even if you cant shoot them, just rush with mines and alan snackbar the shit out of them)

(Matuno) #16

Depends on the map and situation. I use Proxy on maps where I’m more likely to fight at close range (and where her mines are better to place). Fletcher on ranged maps. Bushwacker… I refuse to play out of principle, but definitely good for maps like Bridge.

(terminal) #17

Proxy is overall really weak, mines are loud and clearly visible, weapon selections are undependable, and healthpool is low.
Most competitive teams are using Bushwhacker or Fletcher as their Engineer.
I would personally pick Bushwhacker because he has the better weapon selections plus a turret can lock down an area and lock down areas or surprise enemies around corners, traits that can really benefit an Engineer.

(goldenInroad) #18

I feel like bushwacker is just good when you have a kek for it.

(Ferrett321) #19

Too good*
