Bullets big as watermelons on pistol/snipers?

Okay. I am playing a Vassili for fun now. And I noticed that thing with him. Is it only me or are the sniper bullet as big as watermelons? I mean, yes, ping here or there, and delays, but I feel like most of the time when I miss the enemy visually, the game still confirms the kill/damage. Same with pistols. when I see I miss an enemy but still kill him in a cqc. Is it just my imagination or are the projectiles from those weapons really so forgiving to actual misses?

Yeah, I get what you’re saying, but I think it’s the other way around. meaning, hitboxes feel huge, and VERY forgiving. it’s way too easy to hit a target that is on the move when sniping. coming from a game like battlefield, where sniping needs quite a bit more skill, DB feels like it’s on easy mode.

Ikr, when I think I hit it, I miss, when I’m sure I missed, I headshot. And I’m just sitting there like wtf.

The size of the hitboxes is fine, especially on the sniper. The problem is it seems there is a problem where the hitbox can lag behind the player model as it moves sometimes. I guarantee you against someone standing perfectly still you won’t hit their head unless you hit their head.

okay so now I know the reason why so many times I’ve been killed just AFTER I went to cover behind a wall…

Edit: And that needs to stop, btw.

That’s actually more likely to be lag compensation from a high ping player. Which can go to outrageous levels. If a 500 ping player shoots you on their screen as you go around a corner, you’ll actually get hit a whole half second after you’ve past it.

This annoys me to no end, I’ll duck behind a corner and run away, only to die and see the death cam show me dying right at the corner.

(Alchimi) #8

So that’s not normal, is it?

(Litego) #9

Unless you also have 500ms ping it’s more like 300ms.

It’s perfectly normal, happens in every modern shooter. If you don’t need to lead your target, you will die behind corners. Nothing SD can do about that.

Perfectly normal. This happens for any online game. Networking technology isn’t advanced enough yet to send information quick enough to where the delay isn’t noticeable. Well it is, but it’s just not readily available for everyone.
