As I was playing Competitive modes this morning, I ran into a player by the name of DELETED He clearly was hacking, and had ruined several games of mine. After leaving two games, accepting the “penalty” that I was warned with, I now cannot play for what looks to be 2 hours. I am being punished by quitting a game that hasn’t started yet, because there is no PROPER way to report/ban/kick players in a competitive match. I understand there are bugs, but this is a big one that needs to take priority. While the game is free on Steam, I have put money into this game and expect the ability to play without hackers. I should not be the one to be punished, the hackers should be. Thank you.
BUG: Punishment for avoiding hackers in competitive mode.
if there was no system to punish leavers they would do it all the time and there is no way to know for the game if it is a cheater “if the person got through the cheating protection system”.
Moved to General Discussion. This is not a bug but a side affect of you leaving a competitive match.
Also, there is a strict no naming and shaming rule on this forum. I have removed the content from your post that breaks forum rules. Please report suspicious players directly to Nexon Support.
Also, while yes, you shouldn’t be punished for leaving a game with a hacker, the game doesn’t know that the player is a hacker.
Ardez, the vote kick option does not work, and there is no report a player in game option. The system needs work. I feel it’s a bug because I am not leaving a competitive match, it hasn’t started. I am in the lobby. There is no reason why I should be punished for leaving a lobby. That sounds like a bug. If not, then it should be.
It is for the same reason that you get a penalty for not clicking ‘Accept’. You signed up for a competitive match and then backed out when it was too late.
This is a bug, no doubt about it. If the games features is not working as intended, then it can be considered a bug.
It is working exactly as intended. A player joins a competitive match. A player quits the competitive match. Player receives penalty. The game cannot determine your personal reasoning for leaving the match, it just knows that you did leave.
@Ardez Might have also wanted to delete the name from the quote on #2 post.
I was penalized for 24 hours. Player was hacking I didn’t want to waste my time playing I quit out and totally screwed for 24 hours.

Thanks for mentioning it.

@Dan72w You can report him:
http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/10662/how-to-report-a-hacker#Head
It is the life, u will play against cheater and everybody will if u (and all the player) don’t try to report them to the support the number of cheaters will not decrease. I agree it’s boring and not simple, and a good anti cheat(like V.A.C.) might be a better solution but see CS GO there are cheater, then u will have to live and to play with them
It’s just a game, get fun and #PlayDirty
Playing with a hacker, in competitive, getting penalized for leaving, is a bug. What should happen is that they get a auto win. Your standpoint cannot be defended with anything other than the fact the company has to make a living by apparently making a streamlined system.
You may say a surrender vote needs to be implemented, but the penalty for leaving a match in progress or a matched lobby is not a bug.
Getting penalized for leaving is an intended function of competitive matchmaking.

Does there need to be some way to negate the penalty for leaving because of a cheater? Yes, of course there does because being penalized for something you can’t control sucks (Ardez stated as much), however you knew that leaving a competitive game would earn you this penalty regardless of when or why you left. This is exactly why this forum exists but constantly calling it a bug and arguing with the Mods who are here to try and help you (if you let them) isn’t doing you any favors or garnering you any rep with anyone.
I would suggest posting this issue on Splash Damage’s Forum and for the love of god just don’t indignantly call it a bug, its an oversight which needs to be addressed.
A bug is a unintended consequence, NOONE should waste their time playing against a cheater. Show some respect, if not that show some sportsmanship.
