so… the buff system really gets buggy sometimes… especially with the medic.
buffing system
Edit: Sorry
Be a little more specific! The programmers can’t help improving this game if you don’t help them first!
I get what you’re saying. Playing as a medic now, and there is a couple of things that is really enoying. When I try to revive, the (X), the indicator that I’m going to revive, sometimes dissappear. And the turning/changing target when trying to heal is a pain. The fact that I haven’t noticed this earlier, is because it doesn’t matter when you play engineer, and most of the time as a soldier.
It certainly feels clunky and slow. Also I’m not sure why you have to hold down the use key rather than just tap it and continue on.
soldier is fine because you throw the ammo… such as engie… but medic got to touch the friendlies, that’s why is so clunky
Isn’t the buffing distance same for all? I’ve never had to ‘touch’ someone to ‘buff’ them groan
Right ok, yeah you have to get a closer proximity for it, though surfing more or less covers the extra 5ft required.
something similar happens with comms hack and disguise, any ops know exactly what i’m talking about
The SMART system just isn’t always so smart. It gets confused about who you are pointing at sometimes. It spins you 90 degrees to use the command post when you don’t want to. It’s pulled me onto mines that I could see before.
95% of the time I get along with it just fine. It’s just the occasional hiccup that bugs me.
It’s quite horrible as medic, yep

Sometimes after chasing (by keeping the button down) it still doesn’t buff/heal, and the button has to be released and re-applied

Medic also suffers the Operative “spinning camera” problem, when reviving. Probably 8 times out of 10, my camera is completely screwed up by reviving while moving, leaving me facing some random direction. This makes heal-and-runs suicidal a good deal of the time - it’s not nice. Since syringes can be thrown from a nice distance, heal-and-runs should be entirely possible.
EDIT: Also, the problem with accidental command post interaction can be annoying too - we really, REALLY need the (optional) separate binds for these actions
My only problems as a Medic are: 1. Sometimes I have to stare directly at a guy for a few seconds before I’m given the prompt to revive him. 2. It often seems to prioritize health buffs over revives, when a standing guy is next to an incapacitated guy.
Weirdly enough when spawning you can buff people behind you without even looking back, but if someone is in front it can take ages for the system to recognise. That’s what’s mainly bugging me, you need to wait for the game to give you the prompt, and once it gives you one it’s very hard to change target.
