Buff Phantom's Movement Speed

It’s weird that the ninja moves like an assault. Ninja fantasy is about stealth and agility, but Phantom only hits the one. Nerf HP to 100 if necessary. Not a lot more to say, but right now he’s the 1 character whose gameplay doesn’t meet the expectations of the theme.

He’s not a ninja or anything remotely like it. He’s an ex-military guy who went crazy, stole a suit of refractive armor and then become a merc and thinks of himself as a hero-type or something like that.

Also, his Katana is not unique to him. It’s just another melee weapon and it will be included with other mercs in the future (SD has said this from day 1). So in case you were playing him as melee only, you might not be but from your post I’d wager you are, he’s not a melee only character.

Well, he’s a stealth character. The intuition about stealth toons is that they are fast but a little fragile. Flanking and sneaking is what they do best, and flanking and sneaking is what Phantom’s kit encourages you to do. That doesn’t fit well with sluggish movement.

I guess if they are trying to differentiate him from a yet to be released ultra agile katana wielder that might be an argument.

I swear @Amerika you have that as a copy and paste for these kind of threads

But seriously, I think we better buff his HP back to 120 first, move speed is fine.

I personally prefer a bit more HP compared to a bit more speed. Higher HP mercs in this game almost always do better compared to lower HP. Especially when you start facing players who are a lot more accurate than your standard pub players. And, unless you’re doing melee only trying to catch people, the speed difference doesn’t matter a ton since you usually flank and sit and wait and shoot people in the back of the head then run (and typically they are too far away to catch you even if you were running at Rhino’s speed).

And most stealth characters in most games that I’ve played are severely limited in regards to movement speed.

I have to reference it so often I should add it to a copy/paste mouse macro.

As compensation, perhaps, WHILE cloaked, we give phantom a speed buff? - After attacking and/or waiting for his cool down to reset, he’d be very vulnerable.
