Bucking the trend

So as the title says, I am about to do the unthinkable and make a suggestion about Phantom…

That is entirely unrelated to game balance and his playstyle.

Specifically, I’d like to make a suggestion regarding the UI for his teammates. Currently, the only way to tell a cloaked friendly Phantom from a cloaked enemy Phantom is the triangle/nametag that appears over an ally’s head. That’s all well and good, but sometimes you meet unexpectedly and you’re too close, or your cursor’s angled too far down, and the triangle isn’t very visible.

In these situations, I jump out of my [expletive deleted] skin and empty several rounds into him on instinct.

I would like to see a shiny blue outline around cloaked friendly Phantoms. Something that says, in big shiny letters “DON’T PANIC, HE’S A NICE GUY WHEN YOU GET TO KNOW HIM!”

What do you guys think? Is this something you’d like to see in the game?

Even when I hear a friendly phantom cloak I clench my butt cheeks

Yeah since ennemy grenades have a big obvious red circle around them saying “WATCH OUT I’LL FRAGG YO FACE OFF” a blue outline or something around a friendly cloaked phatom would seem logical…

Actually I disagree. If you can confuse a cloaked Phantom for friendly, that plays into the stealth playstyle giving an enemy phantom an extra second or two perhaps and requiring you to be more aware.

I think once they remove or rework his shield and perhaps nerf his HP, stealth and trickery will be much more important. If all allied Phantoms glowed like a Christmas tree, then you’d shoot at any shadow instantly.

well I personnally have no problem spotting an ennemy cloaked phantom to be honest.

What bugs me is that I always die trying to kill them by shooting while they charge to my face and “so skillz one click” katana me… It’s a bit annoying to see them that easily and still die because that freaky stealth armor…

No one who plays Phantom is a nice guy. Nor would you want to get to know them.
