bspc probs (yes I'm using forcesidesvisible)

(Sub-Zero) #1

I get a ton of these during "Q3_LoadMapFromBSP’ stage:

282 curve brushesWARNING: CM_AddFacetBevels... invalid bevel
WARNING: CM_AddFacetBevels... invalid bevel
WARNING: CM_AddFacetBevels... invalid bevel
WARNING: CM_AddFacetBevels... invalid bevel

Then I get a bunch more just after it starts the ‘loading collision map…’ at which point bspc crashes.

If I just do a bsp with -meta and then a full vis without doing a -light stage, bspc seems to work fine.
my q3map2 2.3.38 cmd lines:

..\..\radiant\q3map2 -fs_basepath e:\quake3 -meta %1.map
..\..\radiant\q3map2 -fs_basepath e:\quake3 -vis %1.bsp
..\..\radiant\q3map2 -fs_basepath e:\quake3 -light -faster patchshadows -samples 2 %1.bsp
..\..\radiant\bspc -forcesidesvisible -bsp2aas ..\baseq3\maps\%1.bsp

Anyone have any ideas?

The only way of correcting these errors is to use botclip massively.

yeah, clip everything you find, especially bevels and curves.

I will give that a try. Its been over a year since I’ve last used bspc on this map, so its a little puzzling why the botclips are now needed. Do you know why that’s the case? Anyway, Thank you both for your help…

I switched to 2.5.2 and the crashing ceased…Anyway, thanks again…
