(Helljumper) #1

when i tryed to load my map to test it it says cannot find .bsp file. any one have any clues. and i thing i did the .arena file right. if that has anything to do with this prrb.

here is the arena file
{
map “Waterworks_b1”
longname “waterworks_b1”
type “wolfmp wolfsw wolfms”
axisrespawntime 15
alliedrespawntime 15
lmsbriefing “LMS blah”
briefing “Loading screen blah”
axiswintext “Final axis text”
alliedwintext “Final Allied text”
mapposition_x 520
mapposition_y 585
}

can i send some one the map and they open it in pakscape and fix it and send it back

The arena file has nothing to do with your problem, just make sure you map is in your maps directory.

edit: Did you mean now that you have put your map in a pk3 it doesn’t work? If that’s the case check the directory structure in your pk3.

Make sure that you run an unpure server if the map is not in a pk3 file.

Type the following into the console - it should load if it is compiled correctly.

/g_gametype 2
/sv_pure 0
/devmap "waterworks_b1"

You have written:

map "Waterworks_b1"

Not sure if ET is case sensitive.
So you should try with lower “w” at the beginning.

(Helljumper) #6

ok but. but im still not sure if somethings outa place in the pk3 or i didnt compile it right. and im not to sure what thing to compile it with

(Helljumper) #7

all i got in there is the arena file the .map file the .bsp file and a sound.

(Oxygen - o2) #8

you dont need the .map file

otherwise people edit your map

the .bsp should be in /maps the sound in /sound and the srena file i think goes in /scripts

(Helljumper) #9

yeah i have that in the right places so does that mean i compiled it worng or somthing?

(nUllSkillZ) #10

Normally everything should be fine if you do a “BSP -meta” compile.
Then zip up your bsp, … like it’s described in Ifurita’s tutorial.

Do you have an “info_player_deathmatch”-entity?

(Helljumper) #11

i dont think so. and how do i enter it in to the map anyone got a good tutorial? and i dont still need to zip it if i have pakskape do i?

(nUllSkillZ) #12

Open up your map in GTKRadiant.
Rightclick in one of the 2D windows.
Choose info -> info_player_deathmatch out of the contextmenu.
Place the entity where you like (from this point the joining players will see your map the first time).

You can also use pakscape to make the pk3.

(Helljumper) #13

ok i will thx and im useing pakscape

(Helljumper) #14

hhmm its still not workin :frowning:

(EB) #15

do you want to send me the .pk3 ? I assume it is a small-medium size. or even just send me the files that make the pk3. My g-mail should handle it ----- Private message me…ok ?

(Helljumper) #16

ok ill do it asap.
