BSP Timing out

(Valhue2) #1

Ok… im getting a weird problem that seems to be getting more and more frequent. It is such and i quote:

The connection timed out, assuming the BSP process failed Make sure you are using a networked version of Q3Map? Otherwise you need to disable BSP Monitoring in prefs.

Ok… well that should be in block form, but im lazy. Now, im using GTK to compile my maps because it works fine for my first one and i dont want to bother w/ scripting quite yet, i want to get used to the editor first.

Wait… damn, i disabled BSP monitoring in preferences, but i would like to be able to view the process so i at least know about how long it will take… i guess i can live w/ it… Poo!

i can recommend hr.os Q3Map2Toolz. its a compiler frontend that doesnt need any scripting of a batch file. u just check some options and it generates the command line for compile, but its still easy to edit the command line manually. all the bsp variations of gtk are implemented and its updated very often with new q3map2 switches.
