Brush tips and techniques?

I’m looking at doing some buildings much like the ones posted here -

Was wondering if anyone has any tutorials, tips etc, that might make building quite a few buildings quite fast - procedures to follow. I’m looking at adding quite a few buildings but I don’t need them to be really detailed, but they need to be respectable looking. I’ve seen the siwa oasis map and drew a lot of inspiration from it. I don’t however want to repeat the design to the dot but to build old adobe style buildings.

I’ve looked around a lot for buildings as such but I wanted more technical architectural background on some of these buildings, how they were constructed both in the real world and also how I could incorporate that in simple design through radiant. I know its a kind of learn as you go process, but was wondering if there is any suggestions to knock down time on how to build a bunch of ruins quickly that saves both time and fps.

Looking for textures also. Again I don’t want to repeat the siwa textures - but incorporate similar design for it.

Save time mapping? Preposterous. Take you time, you won’t regret it.

Also, a great place for textures is http://www.crack.com/golgotha/browse.html
Download the zip, it’s well worth it.

As for techniques, all I can say is sketch out what you want on paper, then build one structure at a time.

What I would do in you situation, would be build a set of different wall elements. Say a couple of corner sections. More windows sections and doors section. And then join these similar sections to form different building layouts. Once you have a complete building you could also add copies of it and rotate them.
