Installed the DLC last night, it seems to run fine. Does anyone know if the flying drone replace the caltrops grenade, or does it just subvert the #3 slot?

It’s a choice. It is one of the options you can bind to any of your ability buttons. As such you can have it and any two other Operative abilities, or you can not have it all and have three of the other options instead.

I like the Hologram images all over the place on Labs. Cool visual effects. Just an awesome looking and designed map. Its like a better version of Aquarium. And Aquarium is great.
Played both new maps a little and people on my team never cease to disappoint me… more than quake wars! I was the only person anywhere near half the objectives and I’d never played the maps before. There are no hills for people to frolic about on in brink game so I have no idea where people disappear to or what they do there. Reminds me why I hate playing with random people in pvp mp games. Weapons are still frustrating random hit, crit or miss but there also seemed to be many more people sporting unfortunate combinations of black and green (colors shared across factions) than I remembered. Might try some more later but it’s just not as fun as a certain other pvp mp fps (quake wars) I could be playing.
uav is cute. should be a smiley with it on these forums.
Well, to be honest. On Founders Towers I sometimes got lost trying to find my way, but on Labs there should be no excuse getting lost really. As of now, Brink’s biggest issue are the players lol
Founders Tower definitely has a rat-maze like feel and a few dead ends or spots that drop you down to the bottom to start over. I am starting to get my direction sense better each time I play. The route plays out very different depending on what faction is chosen. A cool map overall though because each segment plays out as 3 or 4 separate maps in a way. Brink really gets you to play the whole map. Many games there are certain areas that you only go to when you are fooling around. Brink nudges you gently to check out the entire map. And promotes anti-camping. Well, in theory.
Love the new maps! Especially Towers!!!
One thing though… you should make people more aware of the DLC download! Most people dont even know about it and others dont know where to get it from! Just do an automatic update for everyone on steam that has the game! I joined some servers with old maps yesterday and today and no one even knew about the new maps!
Imo the two new maps are absolutely beautiful and the first to really do justice to the Ark’s setting.
The downside is that you’re liable to get shot while admiring the scenic views.
Man you are right - the maps are awsome!!! Especially on Founders Tower you get a feeling for the story. Just like Ghostdog (good movie by the way) said.
By the way: Getting Lost will be no more Problem after the first three or four hours on each map… By then the guys will love the maps because they are no all flat
Sincerely
In a pub game I played last night, I was getting pretty frustrated with my Security teammates on CCity… I got the gate blown by SMARTing up the left, killing the two guys there, jumping the 3 at the gate from behind and killing them, then planting and defending the charge. I couldn’t get the bot all that far as the defence was far more organized.
The match ended with me watching one of my Security team mates having oodles of fun shooting one of the dynamic blue barrels in the spawn.
:stroggbanana:
straight from my stats page:
FOUNDERS TOWER
Security
Loss
2961 xp
49 kills.
match duration: 14 minutes…
my team thought it would be super cool tp turtle up really hard in the room right before the charge plant objective but not even try to push forward beyond that point.
49 kills in 14 minutes, and we still lose.
… the new maps are really great ! … had some nice battles on free-play so far and even on the older maps I could see some new tactics which were quite challenging … plenty of full servers out there … looks like that even a quite few good players are back too … had not the feeling to play against n00bs at all …
… only the level-cap is a little bit low, but if they bring out every 2-3 month a new DLC it should be fine … can’t wait for the next DLC …
Right there with you. Now I just wish Aquarium had some fun lights also to take it over the top!
steam had installed it, i can see new attachment and abilities, but can’t see the new maps…
i try to “check cache integrity” it’s trying to DL a file of 600Kb each time but nothing change…
can’t see the new map, in campaign or on the net:rolleyes:
I kinda wish some of the glass was broken, filling half of the halls with water.
Bioshock takes place long after the underwater city of Rapture has fallen in to chaos and disrepair. Brink, we are fighting when the Civil War has just begun. That’s why the Ark, save for Container City, has not fallen into ruin. We are in the process of deciding its fate and ruin.
