A new blog entry has been added:
[drupal=807]Brink Updates Live, Free DLC Coming[/drupal]

Update: PSN multiplayer services have resumed in much of the world, which means you’re now able to play Brink online! We’ve also thrown the matchmaking changes outlined in the original post below, so the next time you sign into PSN, you should see the updated match settings in Brink.
Original post: We have been working on updates for Brink to address the lag issue that some people have reported they were experiencing.

Hell yea, free DLC is always great.
Hopefully all the issues will be fixed before you guys delve into the whole DLC system too deep.

Nice! I absolutely love you guys for releasing the first DLC for free - that’s AWESOME! I appreciate the great work you guys are putting into this game, but please consider the many requests we’ve been making for a lobby/party system instead of the drop in/out feature. We really, really, really want that! If anything, just let us know what you’re thoughts on it are and whether you’re trying to work it out.

Either way, thank you a ton!

Thanks guys, that’s great.

Splash Damage sure does know how to please a crowd. now all they need to do is make a small little lobby system to please the (play with my buddies) kind of people. Your doing great things splash damage, keep it up and we might have the best FPS of ALL time

Beautiful. :3

Wait, so the current solution for the lag was to drop the matchmaking system from 16 players, to 8 players? Am I misunderstanding this? And to play full 8v8 matches you have to start a customized one?

(badman) #8

You can still join full 16 player matches using the Big Team list.

Good Work SD. I appreciate your hard work. The game, thus far, has been a blast.

Looking forward to the DLC and more of the story.

This is so sudden… An update to fix stuff and FREE Dlc. Dream come true

(Wilson) #11

Thanks for the great patch (fixed my gridding issues) but now I’m getting bad lag now on every server :frowning:

(Erkin) #12

And what about the very poor performances on ATI card ?

(Captain Judaism) #13

3 Days, at least US side, and we already have a patch working on fixes, information on upcoming free content, and promises of things to come. I am pleased.

Shhhhwwwweeeeeettt!

i have 1 question for you BADMAN. can you tell me if you guys are even concerned with the lobby system that the community is BEGGING for? and can we expect the FREINDLY ai to be smarter in the future? im not bashing you, im just asking because its what the community wants and im just trying to get some answers scince your here.

(DarkMan103) #16

I’ve just played two or three game and I was still laging bad. It lag soo much! It’s impossible to play for me. And i also have bug textures where the texture doesn’t load. Well, that’s all for the moment. I’m gonna play Brink when thoses bugs will be fixed.

(meccs) #17

Lol! The Lag fix for the 360 is not a fix! Those with lower upstream bandwidth? I don’t have a lower upstream bandwith (2MBit)… every other game runs fine and Brink still lags like crazy!

And limiting the player count is hardly a fix! Wtf is going on here?!

We consider all of the feedback we’re getting from the community.

The PC version received a first round of AI tweaks today, which we’ll be bringing to the consoles in the title update.

Thank you very much.

THIS is why we love SD. Thanks for the help and putting an ear to the community.
