Brink tickrate

Does anyone know what the tickrate for brink will be? ETQW was 30 but with no vehicles, less players and smaller maps is there room for this to be improved?

euhm, I thought it was 5 minutes per objective? So the sooner you complete the first, the longer you can do over the 2nd.

The client ticrate i’m guessing is what also messed up avidemo captures above 30fps, which was a royal pita. 60 would at least a good upgrade.

I hope so. I know ETQW was hard coded to run at 30 tick no matter what but I’m hoping it can at least be higher this time round with less net traffic and CPU load on the servers.

It was a huge point of criticism on the ETQW forums.

IIRC in ETQW it was done for a reason, i.e. vehicles
I imagine it to be one of the first things that was changed back when development of Brink started
Also wouldn’t expect it to be settable server side based on previous idTech based games

It would be nice to get some improvement, but the Source game servers that advertize their 1000tick status make me scoff involuntarily and then blacklist them. Theres no way the owner is not an idiot who would kick for a ping of 80 or something.

I think its 1000 fps and 100 tic. I believe cs/s max is 100 tic, tf2 is 66 tic and l4d(2) is 30 tic. I wish brink is at a 100 tic or 60 atleast.

Devs said it when Brink just got announced that they`d be doing something about tickrate. Hope for 60.

iD promised 60Hz tickrate lockdown in Rage/Doom4, so maybe SD do something similar for Brink.
hope they not open “fps unlocking” pandora box. again. ever.
