Brink takes way too much upload bandwidth!

Hello everyone,

I’m having a big issue i didn’t have in other games.

I have a not that good internet ( 60kB/s download 10kB/s upload. ) like a lot of french peoples and it’s hasn’t been a problem until Brink.

Game like cod4 / cod:bo and many other takes like 6kB/s upload MAX.

Brink takes around 11kB/s - 18kB/s upload and it’s absolutely unplayable sometimes, my lagometer goes crazy!

Is there anyway of reducing the upload bandwidth brink takes ( like setting cl_packetdup to 0 on CoD ) ?

I also noticed somethign odd about rates
It seems defaul server rate s 16000 or 16KB/sec
net_serverMaxClientRate = “16000”
The server rate can be adjusted.

The clients rate cannot be adjusted and seems to be stuck on unlimited I try to adjust it it says “read only” assuming that is the correct command?
net_clientMaxRate = “0”

wow i never metered such things. Only 11 - 18 kb/s… im impressed. i was expecting megabytes of uploads per second…

it’s 2011… my cell phone gets 1mbit upload… sounds communism.

not everywhere, not nearly this stable as lines do, not that fast like lines (ping), not an option for everyone.

Well, i have friends with the same upload speed as me and with 20mb download, that’s because of a lot of french ISP, nothing else!

May i have some help or at least some attention, me and some friends actually can’t play the game because of that

Could you just set a cvar we can change reducing the hit reg but using less bandwith ? or packets duplication ?
