  • Advantages and disadvantages while in and/or under water for the players depending on their abilities

Slightly realistic body constitution system

resist better poison and gas

  • Slim Player-Characters can:

run faster

run grater distances

climb faster

jump higher (or on objects others can’t)

  • Explains the best way to use abilities
  • Explains how to Teamwork

Character Tool Set

Makes me think back to the Chao pets in Sonic Adventure. Would be neat to have some element of your character or a sidekick which you could send to…erm… your mobile phone and develop while away from the main game.

Water won’t be playing a significant role if any at all, the developpers said in interviews that water in games is merely an obstacle and slows down the pace.

If there’s one studio which are great with water its Splash Damage - I can still remember how much fun I had playing Oasis in W:ET.

(Nail) #25

knife and nade battles in Venice were great fun as well

(tokamak) #26

Yeah or ejecting out of a tormentor in the middle of the Valley lake at the mercy of a drunk sniper who seems to miss you repeatedly on purpose…

I hope that what the waypoint.md3 might have been planned for - will make it into Brink…

(Lanz) #28

I just hope it’s not yet another wolf clone, with some added things. Don’t get me wrong, I loved rtcw and w:et but got tired of et:qw with just roughly 20 hours of play. The game play had evolved but didn’t feel fresh at all for me, same old game with added functionality.

To little info so far to actually know how the game will turn out. Though I’m really not interested in games with RPG influences like leveling and stats, for that I play(ed) games like wow.

I think Brink will be different from ET:QW with it’s SMART button.

i think because The Ark is located on the sea, hope SD will make the best water visual effects ever. Something like Bioshock or Resistance 2

I definitely want to see Tapirs in BRINK. :stroggtapir:

Tapirs always come to my mind when I think about anything related to Splash Damage, so they should be in the game.

(Shiv) #32

Some kind of tapir farm… they where found to be the best form of meat to breed and eat in a small area or something

they would be sad tapirs tho :frowning:

(Shiv) #33

Or the security uses their extraoridinary smelling skills to sniff out drugs and explosives.

I would like to see strafe - jumping. And I hope the shooting resembles RtCW/W:ET, since that is the most important part for me in an online shooter. Classes and objectives come second, and cannot save a game for me if the shooting isn’t convincing.

Thats why I am still playing W:ET, the aiming and movement are like 70% and make it good, the classes and objectives are like additional 20% and make it great, while the community delievers the final 10% and makes the game perfect. For me at least.

I know we sorta covered this in the Q&A thread but what the hell.

How about M+KB support on the PS3 but limit those choosing to use it to cross platform PC dedicated servers only. That way we avoid the whole “it’s unfair” arguments and yet give PS3 owners an option to play however they feel comfortable with rather than what’s dictated as the accepted norm.

(melinio) #38

hello everyone here comes my 1st post here.

my suggestions after seeing gameplay demo are:

-in demo i seen some shooting “down the sight”, i thnk in fast gunplay based game it should
not exist. (as a rtcw, wolf:et fan i think those games had rly perfect shooting - i mean weapon spread,
chrosschair aperance, weapon handling) so guys pls continue this in Brink.

ppl who think same pls show up on this forum and make them do it right in Brink :stuck_out_tongue:

-not sure if i saw it right in demo but i would like to see spint + shoot together
i read somewhere that smart and movement abilities dont affect gunnplay in bad way and i hope its true.

some more soon, greetings.

I personally have no problem with ironsights. I think a speed/visibility/movement penalty for a more accurate weapon is a neat payoff.

i have to agree with this, and its well put to boot.
