Brink server rental

(Spaiker) #1

When I was looking around to preorder a rented server for our clan, I came across this;
http://artofwarcentral.com/brink_game_servers.asp
You can choose up to 32 players. Brink is supposed to be 8vs8?
And no this ain’t 2 Brink servers, because you can choose for 20-22-24-26 slot servers as well as 18.

Also, they don’t seem that expensive, 28.95$/month for a 32 slot server.
Any thoughts on this? Or is this just another ‘rumour’.

I’d say they’re guessing, but also lending to the fact that previous SD games have allowed the user to customize the server settings and increase the player count of the game (64 player Market Garden \o/).

i guess there’s some truth in it. the game will be out soon, so server contracts need to be made.

gamestop had a list recently with brink launching in april. that sounded reasonable. the only thing that bothered me with that list was that according to the list brink should be released on the same day as duke nukem forever.

and what darkangel said about configuring the number of players.

So it will actually be possible to have a 10-10 battle for example?

(Joe999) #5

that hasn’t been officially confirmed. but chances are high that this will be possible on pc.

That doesn´t matters for example im a server owner and I rented once a 32 server slot, then I only had 22 slots when it went online, the game limits the slots, you can even rent a 100 slot server for brink and only have 16 slots avaible : P

I won’t believe stuff until it’s published by SD or Bethestha, al those companies are just guessing

I think the real question is, is that the right price for the 32 slot server mentioned? That seems awfully cheap, even as a simple base price with no extras.

(xTriXxy) #9

if its cheap for you, you can always order from EU providers. like it was for ETQW. 24 slots ranked 100euro per month. (i3d.net, swissquake, atservers…)

(Apples) #10

100€/month? never seen / paid these price…

(AnthonyDa) #11

He probably had to pay an extra after giving his root password to anyone on the internet…

(xTriXxy) #12

lol
i3d.net was 89.90 , swissquake over 100, austrian game servers over 90euro per month. i ordered cheapest unranked 16 slots from i3d.net for promod and it was 54 euro per month.
/but this was 2 or 3 years ago/

i3d suck company, but yeah Europe hosts are mostly good (Germans are regularly overselling though).
