BRINK Server Browser pinging too quickly.

(Rizno) #1

Hi there.
I have an issue with my router disconnecting me from the internet because the server browser pings to quickly. I would replace the router but it isn’t mine and it works fine with all my other online games.
So all I’m really asking is: Is there any way to slow down how fast the servers get pinged? I’ve tried setting my connection to “56k Modem” within Steam’s options but that has no effect at all on the speed servers appear and get pinged.

Please help, as I can’t play BRINK online at all without my internet dying on me! :frowning:

In know this problem. Had it with some games.

Solution 1: Use an external server browser (though I dont know if any/which are working with Brink)

Solution 2: Change some settings in your router config (though I cant remember which… so no big help here)

Maybe a router firmware update will help

i had the same problem with other games when i bought a new router.

its a zyxel router and had to disable its internal firewall to be able to refresh game server lists.

the router shuts down automatically when a certain amount of incomplete tcp requests are sent, or something like that. its a security feature to protect from dos attacks usually.

Disable IP Flood Detection in your router
