wow alot of people who should be reviving me in brink are in here trying to be intel lectual wich really is such a turn off i mean really!!! so unsexy !!!
Brink retail price is falling down quite quickly.
and i love my fallout dlc and dont have the money for every new game so im happy with my $60 purchase!!!
Portal 2 was $20/off the week after release @ gamestop. e-bay sales ended lower then that (~$30 lower then the Steam price). The shocker for me was seeing CoD:MW2 for $30 now. MW1 was $50 until ~MW2 came out & then it was $40. Stuff not moving on shelves is a loss though, but a great bargin for us: I love Target’s game clearance section. Leftover great titles for under $20!
Last I saw (monday), Brink was still $50/60 at Gamestop, WalMart & Target.
Economics 101: Demand drives the price, so more demand = higher prices, lower demand = lower prices
I wouldn’t be worried though, because a lower price will mean more people will go out and buy the game.
Truth indeed, since it did not sell as well as it could have prices have dropped. However this does mean that many who were on the fence may buy it now since it is lowered (just snagged a copy from ebay, ps3, new, 35 bucks =D)
However this does not mean that since more people will buy it now that prices will go back up. (for all those that made that connection)
And these posting of brink at cheaper prices are from these secondary retailers/markets such as ebay and other online gaming stores (who can afford to have inconsistent pricing and undercut bigger retailers to make profit.)
At gamestop target walmart ect it is 60 dollars. 55 used at gamestop. So no saying the prce has dropped yet. And this is all US information, unkown about Eu, UK, ect (foreign to me) markets
damn sorry for some information re-post. I just saw the post above mineafter i hit post.
So conclusion, its not really falling quickly. Only an opinion that birthed from observations made on a small scale ( 4 weeks old = small scale vs the 52 weeks of a year, less than 8 % ) by a young character doing back-of-da-bus arguments. Its very too early to advance some theory about all the BS of pricing meaning how good or bad is a game. Next year, we will have at least a better view of the Brink “failz” case (which i failz to see, guess im a fan boy every time i try a game…). Any other observations made on the matter for now will only results in speculations or opinions, because IT IS FAR FROM BEING A SCIENTIFIC STUDY. Being objective (being scientific) you need parameters than can be observed and quantified on a CERTAIN amount of time of data collecting, and that can be repeated. 4 weeks CANT prove anything so far, we can only speculate. Called being subjective (a.k.a. pushing some theory that backs the opinion you made for yourself) is whats whats here.
So Brink retail price is falling down quite quickly = speculation round table, period. There no solid proof of anything backing the OP in the sense of being right about it. The game is a failz because the price has fell a little? Thats purely an opinion over speculations made over a tiny piece of evidence all over this thread… for now. Maybe later some will be able to pat themselves on the back, but for now its has no credibility at all.
it is clear the game is failing and they are trying to sell as many copies are possible within the first marketing campaign
please do not switch off ur brain man trying do defend what is clear to everybody

if you follow game sales you’ll notice that within the first 3-4 weeks the game prices drop heavily. i could always bite myself when i see a 10 euro price drop one week after i bought a game at launch date. that’s why i don’t buy games anymore at launch date, if i don’t intend to play them immediately.
recent example was the latest nfs game. bought it for 60 euro. 1 week later it cost 40.
i don’t care if “the game is failing” or whatever since i don’t play brink ( see here http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27201 ). hence you can read my opinion as unbiased.
there may be a relation between game sales performance and game reception, but i doubt it’s high.
