As a fan of Splinter Cell I guess I could appreciate some stealthy maneuvers in Brink, though I’d figure it will be complicated combining stealth and arcade.

It’s not really supposed to be a major thing, just one option more. Perhaps the point of landing on top of somebody was first to break your fall and second to actually kill someone, it just fits in the parkour thing.

Given the virtual texturing I’d expect they could easily include higher reference textures and let the engine take care of the scaling.

I think the biggest problem would be getting them on a disc. If they expect to fill a 360 disc with content then will the PC end up with the same? Maybe they could offer some pure compliant textures in a downloadable PK3.

Since nobody has asked this yet (or I overlooked the post), will the aiming be similar to RtCW/ET?

I mean accurate hip shooting while sprinting, thee hs for a kill and so on? If not, how will it be?

And about movement, will there still be strafe - jumping?

You can strafe - jump in Quake 3, 4 and QLive, RtCW, W:ET and ET:QW (just not that good), CoD 1 - 5, Warsow, Urban Terror…

Basically all games with Tech 3 - engine (except Soldier of Fortune 2) and most Tech 4 games (except Doom 3 for example) allow some degree of strafe - jumping. So why should a fast shooter with some emphasis on movement that runs on some form of the Tech 4 - engine not allow it?

In Urban Terror you can combine them with meneuvers like slides and walljumps, on W:ET - servers with the double - jump - minimod you can combine them with double - jumps to move very fast.

So why not include them, they could allow some nifty maneuvers in combination with SMART. They aren’t gamebreaking in a teamshooter with objectives (certain spam weapons are much worse), most people don’t even realize they exist, but they make the game more fun since there is more to learn and master. And they aren’t that hard to learn either, not harder then mastering headshots on fast moving targets while strafing anyway.

the characters in the screenshots have lots of tattoos. will they be customizable? eg clan-tattoo or sth?

You could have a design for public play and one for clan games where all members were similar clothes / tattoos. :slight_smile:

What about the weapons? Will it have a small, unit based selection, like QW? Or will there be a large pool for you to choose from?
