Brink [PC] Dumb questions

I have a bunch of quick questions (mostly server browser related)!

  1. Multiplayer objective games: I always get put on the security team when I join. Is this a fluke, or can I enable a “Choose randomly” option?

  2. Server Browser: It feels very laggy and I get about 10 frames per second. Any fixes? (I’ve got an Geforce GTX 480, if that helps).

  3. Server Browser: My refresh button doesn’t seem to do anything? Is this normal?

  4. Server Browser: It doesn’t seem to save my filters, can I make them save?

  5. Server Browser: What does the star column on the side do? I figured it might be for setting favorites, but I couldn’t seem to get it to do anything.

  6. Customization: When I started, I could select things like tattoos and face type. I cant figure out how to get back to that customization section.

  7. Bindings: I can’t seem to bind mouse wheel up/down to anything other than switching weapons. I’d love to bind mouse wheel down to melee, but it just ignores it.

while i didnt read your questions - i will agree with you that they are pretty dumb.

Sorry that the only question I can answer is number 6 so…

When you first start-up Brink, or exit from a MP-map, the main menu has a button that reads “Character and weapons”. Select this and you get the option to select you character and from there it takes you into a menu where you can re-edit your appearance, body types, weapons, abilities, etc. etc.

Oh yeah, thats not a problem. My problem is that I can’t seem to FIND all the options. Tattoos and choice of face seem to be missing.

When you make you’re archetype, its permanent for that character. The only way to get back to that screen is to make a new character.

Ooooooh, my bad. I read that wrong then. Well you should have options for tatoos right next to the Appearance tab, on the left hand side. If you have blank space between Body Type and… I think “Shirt” then I’m afraid I’m a little unsure. If it’s not answered when I get off work in a few hours I’ll check my images to see what might be up.

Quick edit: But yeah, Archtype you’re stuck with unfortunately but I know you can change tatoos on the fly.

I believe you have just been unlucky (or lucky?) and joined a server that had more on the other team so it had to put you there.

The star column on the left side is to add servers to your favorite. Works for me but acts up sometimes.

I dont think you can save filters.

I always go back and reenter the server list since I notice the same thing with the refresh button.
