Brink online play

(Ben Dover (lol)) #1

Will there be any online play in Brink and if so what style will it be? I have heard Co-Op for the campaign but wonder if there will be any online style such as Modern Warfare 2 (total GOTY, no offense SD)? Im on seXBOX 360 if that is any help for an SD staff member to answer my question. I <3 Fallout 3 and know that Bethesda would not publish any mediocre games. This is really shaping up to be a quality title if it has online play! No clue what this is but it looks funny lol.

yes, there is online play, maybe do some reading while you’re here. Most questions have been asked and answered.

(DoubleDigit) #3

No, there is no online play in Brink, but it does have support for dedicated servers and server browser.

…and that’s a small army of Stoggified Tapirs of course!

Being at the Splash Damage forums and having no knowledge about Tapirs is sacrilege.

Psi-Tapirs, go and get him…:stroggtapir::stroggtapir::stroggtapir:

Another COD fanboy…sorry m8, COD got nothing on this game from what I’ve seen so far.

(tokamak) #7

It’s only possible to play multiplayer in splitscreen on a pc. You’ll have to use the same keyboard though.
Another COD fanboy…sorry m8, COD got nothing on this game from what I’ve seen so far.
A fanboy wouldn’t bother to register on a forum to get information about a different FPS. So shush!

Let the snobbism begin :D. COD has worn the gaming audience so far down that other games have become products for the elite.

(Zarlor) #10

Yes, it’ll have online play and it’ll have the same objectives as the offline play. Everything should be pretty seamless. You can even do co-op mode. I think they said there would be the option for straight deathmatch mode as well.

Guys, this user is just the kind of new player that SD is looking to interest and get as a new player. His curiosity and interest is piqued and he’d like to consider getting the game. I say we go out of our way to help and encourage new players instead of being kinda snarky. Let’s make this game and community as approachable as possible.

I agree, let’s keep the snide remarks for after release

Thank you very much Zarlor  that helped alot. i plan on getting this game when it come out next fall. this is gonna be the new mw2 for me  yes i am a cod fan as i followed every bit of rumors and truths since the 1st announcement of mw2 which totals up to about 9 months. i am really phsyched for this game and cant wait to play. sorry about not knowing what the strogg tapirs were, i am new to SD as i have not played any of there games for very long, maybe like 3 hours worth all together. this one really caught my eye though. anyways thanks again for the info and ill keep the questions comin when i have them and readin other threads to learn so me more… there is some quite heated debates in some of these threads. everyone follow Zarlor’s example.

Quakewars - LoL

(Nail) #15

Quake Wars is an Activision game, not Bethesda and I think it’s a pretty good game

(meisterbrau) #16

not on console! quake wars in unplayable on console. although it wasn’t splash damage responsible for the qw on the consoles, they still let it happen.

(system) #17

You can’t say they let it happen as they were only responsible for developing the PC version. Responsible for the Console versions are Activision/id software/the respective developer.

They weren’t involved with the console ports.

(madness) #18

I didn’t really like the PC version either

Actually, I don’t like idtech4…
If SD can make a great game out of Brink using idtech4, I’ll be quite surprised. Fingers crossed! :stuck_out_tongue:
