BRINK on the Cover of PlayStation Official Magazine UK

A new story entry has been added:
[drupal=476]BRINK on the Cover of PlayStation Official Magazine UK[/drupal]

BRINK is the cover story of the latest issue of PlayStation Official Magazine UK, which is in stores as of today. The POM guys got to see the game firsthand here at the Splash Damage offices and chatted with several members of the team, resulting in a five page blowout crammed with information and garnished with new art and screenshots. Here’s a small taste:
…one thing we’re even more sure about even at this early stage is that Brink’s core gameplay will be exceptional. The shooting and movement is solid and clean, the bright, exaggerated visuals contrasting brilliantly with thunderous sound effects, which build into a hammering chaos when the fights kick off in full.
Pick up issue 034 of PlayStation Official Magazine UK for the full feature.

No new art, screenshots and information for the website?

(Bezzy) #3

There’s new shots in the magazine.

Also, I did not attack my father; my father attacked me. My lawyers will be contacting Profficial RayStation Magazoom shortly for a retraction of this libellous text.

S**t, in Austria it’s hard to get mags from the UK or the US and when it’s possible to get the mag, it’s pricy.

So, in case I can’t get this, I hope to see an online-update in the near future.

(madness) #5

that’s one ugly guy on the cover, there…

(Floris) #6

Well I don’t have a Playstation so I guess I won’t be buying the magazine, though I might check it out in the store.

New art, sexy

Aaaw man, will see if i can get my family to get it and post it XD.
Currently i am a pommy… so i guess if i get a few letters cut off i will be pom, then i could read myself and look at the pretty pictures!

If only someone could take ‘the magazine’ and invent something similar but which can be read by anyone who is interested, regardless of their physical location on the planet, perhaps using those dusty computer things we used to play games on.

Here’s the screens from the Play Station Official magazine- Uk
(sorry about the crappy image host)

I wont link the article, but its defiantly worth the read if you can get your hands on it.

Looks like APTs are back (bottom left corner) sigh

(tokamak) #13

Of course they are!

I do think that the APT’s in TF2 were a bit too dominating in the game though, an engineer could easily keep whole teams at bay. I’m sure SD will find a way to balance it though, give it limited ammo that needs to be refilled, EMP grenades, perhaps even hacking it to turn it against it’s own side.

has someone been leaking our design docs???
(nb: this is NOT a confirmation of any game features…)

I’m torn on the idea of turrets. Many times they seemed to distract from the main objectives of the game in ETQW.

I wonder if instead of fixed emplacements whether you could have augmented abilities from hovering drones or worn equipment. Similar to how the Strogg constructor had a repair drone. That way you don’t need to enter into this farming and micromanagement of turrets.

That said. I did always like the idea of a hacked turret turning against its own team.
