Brink Objective Wheel vs ETQW Objective Menu/List
Not really. You got the colors right, but the main objective can be in any direction. As I said on the 1st post.
I totally love how the objective wheel is taking the whole screen and makes me totally blind!
Thanks god I’m not playing it on a couch at 3m from my TV because I wouldn’t be able to read the text!

Personally, I prefer the BRINK objective wheel, simply because I actually use it; in all my 200+ hours of playing ET:QW, I never used the mission objectives list thing. Heh.
i lolled at people who used objective menu in ETQW
That was a useless piece of crap. The current wheel is much better imho. Anyways, need it only to rank up faster to lvl20, then forget about this wheel. Who cares about XP anyway.
That donut menu is in contrast with the parkour element, because it limit the sight, movement and multitasking
Probably a one button solution would work here by pointing at a object(icon) and pressing F to autoselect the mission (capturing/defending/hacking/planting etc.)
That works now - tap the objective wheel button instead of holding it down.
Agreed, it’s a direct console feature. I don’t want or need a mission list taking up ALL my screen. There is a cvar g_showadvancedhud let’s get that to work ffs!
I prefer pretty much every aspect of the ETQW interface over Brink. Hell, it took me two weeks to figure out how to create a Fire Team in Brink where the interface for ETQW was just so intuitive and easy to use. I find the whole Brink wheel interface to be awkward to use with the mouse, I often choose the wrong Objective by accident or change my class inadvertently at Command Posts.

I wouldn’t consider tapping a feature of the wheel itself, it’s a shortcut feature of the game that in theory could be implemented on either UIs. By tapping, you are not really “using” the exposed UI at all, you barely even see it.
If I added a “Hybrid” or “Improved” option to the votes, I’m pretty sure most people would have picked that.
A customizable option would be even better.
Also, you guys do realize ETQW was sold for consoles too. And I doubt it had an objective “wheel”, but I’ve never seen how it was on consoles. And nobody has given a heads up on it. A picture would be nice.

IE: separate the run/Smart buttons, allow key bindings for all F button actions, add a menu instead of a wheel, and so on…?

im on console and i would love it if they seperated the sprint and smart to different buttons. i do everything manually as i find it easier and more efficient than smart. i have jump as LB sprint as LS and self buff as A. i find it very annoying when i want to manually do something in a confined space and because i tap the sprint button while moving forward so i get momentum and then find that smart did the action for me, usually much slower than i would have. A setting to toggle off smart, for me, would be much appreciated:D
and McAfee on consoles ET:QW had the for commands mapped to each direction on the d pad
Guys still try to compare to ETQW, such a long life for a 2007 game.
Just need a minute of play to know that Brink will be forgotten in 2 years max !!
I don’t mind the wheel so much, the only HATE/RAGE thing I have about it is when, for example you go to refresh ammo or upgrade/firewall and when you come off the command post your all of a sudden a medic.
Really annoying as its natural to want to turn away from the CP using the mouse. Would have preferred it if the objective wheel had been tagged to a button instead.
