Brink Needs Heavier Marketing!

(X-Frame) #21

I think that Brink really needs a video or two showing just how the game plays when a really good player takes control. As of now it seems to just be random clips of showing off the game and slowing things down.

I think a lot of people will be amazed if a good player takes control of a Light body for example and then everyone will see, “Wow, we can do THAT?!”

But you’ll then intimidate the nooblings with the awesomeness

I heard about Brink from looking up stuff on Mirror’s Edge.

Then heard more about it from the local Parkour guys.

Then started looking more seriously into it and have decided it’s a must-have pre-order.

They should do at least a commercial I mean look at some of the games that got tv time. Brink deserves some promotion, so they can get even more intrest. Like casting 1 fishing pole versus a bunch, or dynamite fising.

I say show some cinematics then show someone complain about the jumping around bieng for show in all games and how u can’t really do that in a game. Then show game footage and the person turns to a raving child saying
“GIMMIE GIMMIE I WANT IT NOW” Just a thought

I agree!!

Even a lot of people hanging around in forums of gaming magazines don’t really know the game or what it’s all about.
Though I have to say a little more attention and love from some magazines would be nice already. BRINK isn’t treated like a potential Blockbuster, people think about it as the nice little game that may have some potential.

It had a large drive at the cinema, was shown at the start of Sucker Punch throughout the UK at least.

Really I haven’t been to a movie in a minute, but I’ve never seen game trailers in a theatre in the US thats a really good idea though.

i agree. there should be more advertising for brink.

i mean. take a look at portal2. i have absolutely no interest in this game. i played part1 for 20 minutes and got bored. anyways.

there is no way you didnt hear from portal2 unless you live on mars. i bet valve is even sending ads tho the mars, wtf.

and its not just like big posters. no. its really intellegent. i didnt follow the whole story. its impossible to follow the whole story i think. i think it started april 1st?!

currently all sorts of games available via steam have some connection with portal. theres even a wiki about all that potato stuff. dont have an idea whats that about though.

they must have like quite a few men and women working in the advertising on this game. thats really a masterpiece of marketing. its really interesting and fun to follow, even though it gets a bit too much for my taste. if i would be a portal fanboy i would go nuts though.

i mean, wtf? this is from the wiki. we are talking about advertising a computer game here.

not too late to come up with some ideas SD…

Hm could that final part in the BF3 trailer contain an ARG as well? It sounds like one.

(dandragon) #30

Finally saw commercials for brink. Was watching family guy on tbs and there were 2 short simple cinematics. It’s a start

(RadBrad31) #31

These are the first and only Brink ads I saw on TV. I would really like to see more mainstream TV advertising, but hey, it’s the companies’ money to spend/make. not mine.

(Mustang) #32

I’ve been keeping an eye out on the Engrish channels… but nothing yet

(Shadowfrost) #33

Yeah i saw a BRINK ad twice in about 15 minutes… looks like they started marketing

(dandragon) #34

Yeah its a start, but I thought it would have a bit more to it but I’m wondering if there is some hesitation on the marketing due to the fact that it’s a new ip not COD.

I saw BRINK commercials on TV (Swedish MTV-channel) yesterday evening.
