Brink Movie

(wolfnemesis75) #1

I think Brink would make an awesome Movie. Morgan Freeman could play Clinton Mokoena. Perhaps the movie can focus on some of the events leading up to the Ark. Some background on the founders. Stuff like that. It works well to suppliment story content with books, Movies, outside the game like the Gears of War franchise is doing. I think Brink would make for a pretty cool movie, where-as many other games it would be hard to transition to the big screen.

What do you’all think? (No flaming please!)

Would love a graphic novel or web comic based somewhere in the ark. Doesn’t even need to be story defining. A story within the world would be cool too.

Did you ever read a book called “Snow Crash” ? There was a massive floating raft that was made of ships and boats that were lashed together and filled with refugees (well… refugeees / cultists kinda) that reminds me of the resistance side of the ark. It’s a great book if you like scifi / cyberpunk.

Would also love a novel based in the brink IP. And I’d rather see Tony Todd as Mokoena than Morgan. No idea who’s play Chen though.

Tony Todd from Star Trek! Cool. Worf’s brother! Good call. I will definitely check out Snow Crash! I am reading Jacinto’s Remnant right now. Yah, I am a geek. Don’t care!

I was thinking also that it’d be cool if a movie showed several different perspectives like a Quentin Tarantino Movie to get both sides of the Ark war. Could be a prelude to the War or the moments leading up to the events in the game.

I’d say yes, but you just know it would get butchered… and Brink’s already got quite a crowd of haters, it doesn’t need to grow any bigger.

How bout a saturday morning cartoon series!!!

Really would like to see the Ark come to life, but only if it stays true to the foundation laid by the game. But anything to just bring it more substance and meaning, make it a living and breathing world. Doing more story in side ventures is just as good as doing it in the game IMO, the game is really just the moments of action from the overall story, really want to see it get much deeper.

I really can imagine story content outside the game whether it be a series or novels or a movie. It is hard to cram a lot of story in to a game without it getting in way of the pace. Gameplay should be king in the game.

(crazyfoolish) #8

for this to happen the game actually has to have a large fanbase. Sadly, Brink does not.

Never gave that any thought. Would be damn cool though.

there is a totall lack of a deep story as is. why make an ambigous tale into a movie am i rite

That was an awesome film. I caught it on TV one day and totally expected to flip channels in 10 minutes but ended up watching the entire thing

Haven’t seen District 14 yet though.

If they concidered a movie they should totally get this team to look at it.

Wasn’t that the book where the mafia were a corporation or franchise or something? Hiro Protagonist - possibly one of the best character names ever.

Link Published in '92, sheesh I feel old.

Yeah. That’s the one. The mafia were a corporation and one of their branches was a pizza delivery chain. Hiro starts off as a driver for this chain.
I really enjoyed the book. I suggest it to anyone who likes cyberpunk.

This is pretty funny lol. I can’t see it.

(wolfnemesis75) #16

Nah. Some of us DO like the game and story. True story, bro.

A book/film/novel/younameit to Brink would be super cool ! I really like the story of Brink and i even think it´s a good story . Not one of the dense ones , but i really like it  It makes me kinda sad , For the survivors , for the poor and for the fate of humanity :frowning: But the Story is really good and i´d reallly enjoy a book/comic/novel x3

For now all we can do is rewatch Waterworld and imagine that somewhere out there is a floating city…

(wolfnemesis75) #19

We need to find DRY LAND! Great movie. Founders Tower is out there somewhere…

(zenstar) #20

It’s very easy to see a cross between waterworld and total recall.
Resistance vs security, scifi future, floating city, flooded earth. And that’s without even starting to listen to the audio logs which flesh things out even more. Just the intro movie, the mission movies and the look of the levels gives you a lot of stuff to work with if you’ve got the imagination to read between the lines.
