Brink = Killzone 2

I did struggle with aim a little in KZ2, but since then i think i have improved alot. I am perfect in Black ops, but in games like MAG i am always just a little off when it matters which is frustrating.

One thing i have noticed is in most the gameplay videos whoever is playing always seems to have issues aiming, especially vertically - and after sliding. I am starting to think i should get it on PC instead, but this might require an upgrade because i barely scrape the min spec :frowning:

Everybody has different opinions and will respectively play different titles, but the fact of the matter is that a player should be playing the game, not fighting the controls. Television companies spent millions of dollars producing game modes for their sets for this exact reason. Call of Duty is so successful because the game is smooth and not very buggy. People comment on aim response, with a general consensus of adapting to it. At some point people must question the longevity of these titles, how many players are returning their games, and most importantly WHY. An aim acceleration control slider is relatively cheap to implement instead of recoding the game drastically. This thread is not to contradict which engines are better then others, it is very opinionated, and must be respected. My main point is that a more responsive “tighter” aiming would IN NO WAY would harm the games performance, sales, or integrity - rather provide a much more natural feel and experience to players. It is all too often that we find ourselves settling for silly little game mechanics that are not polished. It is 2011, we’ve put people on the moon, but we are not able to have smooth consistent game controls. The fact that developers think any game can survive without a party system, or customizable control schemes (this includes an accelerator function) in the present is absurd. Call of Duty 4 game mechanics raised the bar to not only Xbox 360 - but to systems and titles internationally, a feat yet to be challenged.

I completely agree with Aytreeuhs. Since Halo 2 in 2004, multiplayer games on console didn’t improved much or should I say… never offered as good or better options. Halo and Call of Duty are the only two games that you can jump right into and in a few hours feel comfortable with the controls. After more than 12 hours, i still have problem with Brink. Better than Crysis 2, but still not as good as Halo. I don’t like Halo, but when i pick up that game it’s like heaven (aiming and excluding auto-aim).

Brink deserves to feel that way too = heaven.

If it’s not coming with an update, at least Brink 2 should nail the aiming system, offer sharp graphics on console, offer a party system, allow the players to properly create their own public match rather than just joining ones that may lag and offer a ‘‘search game browser’’ on console.

Console players are not 4 years old kid for god sake and a lot of console players actually come from PC!!

Yes. Brink = KZ2.

Incredible, highly underappreciated games with a lot of heart. Brink will maintain a small hardcore fanbase like KZ2 does.

Brink = Brink

Brink and KZ2 do have a lot in common, in my mind.

Both have really cool art.
Both have a neat, sci-fi story.

Both leave me feeling thoroughly entertained, but somewhat drained, and in need of a nap or something to recharge my batteries.

I shouldn’t have called it Brink = Killzone 2, the basis of this thread’s title is what happened to Killzone 2 in it’s release, which was extreme potential wasted by the developers want to make their game, THEIR game. Many players cried out for a fix to the horrendous aiming but they simply took it personal, and didn’t make any changes – they released a patch which really didn’t fix anything. I cannot stress how important it is to fix the aiming issue (once again which is what this thread is about).

Crysis 2 took days to adjust to. Game is too fast and too reliant on perfect aim to have such a delay on the sticks.

Killzone 2 however is the worst offender ever, great gameplay marred by one detail that scared off tons of potential fans.

Brink isn’t close to that though, I adjusted quickly and I play with sensitivity maxes out. I think its pretty good. Again, I do wish that evry game could be as tight as COD but I blame 30 FPS for that, I can imagine its difficult to achieve those controls at that framerate.

Here’s just a couple titles who figured it out for Xbox 360: The Outfit, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Battlefield: Modern Combat 2, Shadowrun, Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2, Halo 1&2&3, Perfect Dark, Gears of War 1&2, CoD Franchise
