Brink is the perfect game for branching missions

It seems that many of the missions are related to one another in some way, not like ETQW’s. I’d like to see a campaign option for branching missions. It would give some more flexibility in winning/loosing. The What-If missions kind of do this but I’d love to see it expanded to other missions or a new campaign.

there is no story really, i mean there is but extreamly shallow i think they should have done a better job

I hope the DLC shows what happens after the final Resistance Mission succeeds. What happens to them. Epic.

Finally, someone agrees with me about branching missions. That’s the direction Brink should go in, levels that lead into eachother different ways, and have objectives that aren’t placed in the same place all the time.

It would be far more interesting, for a game that already is so.

I’ve wanted branching MP missions in games since I found out Quake 2 could have something in level A effect stuff in level B and you could have multiple exists. New routes, doors that don’t work, etc. Branching missions seem to be only done for SP RTS games any more but Brink seems PERFECT. Heck, maybe even if you do/don’t do secondary objectives things become easier/harder for that team in the next map.

You could really do that in this game with some good planning. Don’t have to make new maps, just moving objectives. : /

Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It’s expected to be there, but it’s not that important.

Thats a pretty ignorant statement to post, there are lots of games I wouldn’t be playing if it weren’t for the story in the game.

John Carmack’s words, not mine.

On the other hand, you could deeply improve the depth of the story with branching missions either as a consequence or as the main purpose.

I really like what SD’s trying to do with merging SP/MP, and I think this is the right and most logical step. What hey should consider doing is bringing back vehicles as well as maps like W:ET that aren’t so linear. It’d be pretty nice. Probably tough to design, though.
