Brink is Jenky?

(Nullzero) #1

Anyone else feel like… something is just a bit… OFF about Brink? I don’t know if its the netcode… the animation… or something. I decided to make a video clip of some of the weird Jenkiness that I have found in this game.

Anyone else see these same issues? So frustrating.:frowning:

they game runs horrible and SD doesnt want to address the issue. Hey SD where are your tweets now? tweeting all over the place before release, and release day. how about tweets saying your sorry and a patch is comming. but nah, we will take the weekend off and then not make any sort of announcement on monday. *****ing shameful. Stealing from customers.

Just to comment on the 14/16 players thing, they more than likely have private slots. At least, that’s what I’m guessing.

We know the grenades aren’t super powerful and they’re meant to be that way…

The USE function sometimes prioritizes a bit funky, but that’s your own fault. Just release it and make sure the proper thing is highlighted next time.

And wow yeah, there was some lag sometimes… also sometimes animations glitch a bit.

The more I watch that video the more annoyed I get.

The most likely thing with the slots is that people joined before you did and you haven’t refreshed the browser.

I’m playing on ps3, so I can’t compare my experience to yours, but 90% I’m super smooth.

Grenades are cool the way they are. The game is /wonderfully/ free from random nade frag-fests. Just make sure you cook them before you throw (the clicks will tell you when the timing is set) and you can score some brutal multi-knockdowns that your team can clear up nicely.

I used to be a pc gamer until the beginning of this year when I started to invest all my dollar in studio equipment instead of pc hardware, so things like your server browser really make me jealous. :frowning:

Are servers able to keep reserved spots like is found in the games that Brink is trying to copy from?

(Inofor) #6

I really like your video, it’s funny and most of it is quite true.

(sirius89) #7

I laughed so much in this video, hilarious.

Good thing is,i still can laugh about all that buggy stuff.Fix the game asap plx SD,pretty plx? :frowning:

THIS GAME IS BUGGY AS ****,seriously OMFG!

JENK JENK all around haha.

I really like the video too, shame most of it is **** i got over in alot of games, maybe you should too.

exactly.

ps. join on server with low ping. <50

Dedicated servers with reserved slots will always say full even if the server itself is not full. This has been around since HL1 I believe.

The warp/lag you are experiencing (according to your server selection) is part SD and part your fault. Joining a server with 176+ ping will give you similar results no matter what game you’re playing.

The grenades are more then likely a bug. Saying that BC2 did not have this problem is utter bull****. BC2 had a horrible launch, worse then Brink. You couldn’t even login to access the servers for the first 2 weeks. On top of that, at least in Brink you can throw nades. 70% of the time in BC2 when you threw a nade it would explode and do nothing. It wouldn’t even register.

This video is 10% “Jenk” and 90% ignorance.

I know I’m a douche, but I’ve explained this already and it isn’t difficult!

(amazinglarry) #12

Thanks for your contribution…

(fearlessfox) #13

I already contributed quite a lot to the thread; I earned that post thank you very much!

That vid doesn’t even show half of it, it is much worse. ON a 5970 add huge amount of tearing, jumping fps between 20-50, flashing shadows, sounds disapearing. I don’t even want to think about it anymore, I will play the game again next month after patches and new drivers and it better be fixed.

Thank you all for the feedback!

The reserved slot thing makes a lot of sense! I hope they add something in the future to make that a little more clear! AND fix the grenade bugs!
