Thanks to the magic of QuakeCon, Brink is completely and utterly free to play on Steam from right now until Sunday 1 PM Pacific (that’s 9 PM UK time). Not only that, but you’ll get to enjoy the just-released Agents of Change DLC as part of the deal. All you need to do get started is head over to Brink’s Steam page and kick off the download.
In other steamy Brink news, the game is currently 50% off (making it £14.99 here in the UK) and can also be had as part of the humongous QuakeCon Pack 2011 alongside 34 other id Software and Bethesda titles for the incomprehensibly small sum of £49.99.

was there a pc update that came right before the dlc? i seem to remember a 30mb download. i looked for a thread but couldn’t find one. anyone able to help me out?

I believe that was a pre-DLC patch to ensure the content ran smoothly with the game.

Haven’t played the DLC till now in a server and so my opinion is biased to the way it was till Aug 2nd. This ( a playable demo or free trial) should have been available a long time ago. Sounds very much like a desperate attempt to get some players back into the game.

No, this was the best time. Game has lots of extras with the free dlc and fixes plus rebalance.

Nice move and I agree it’s good timing, was no point doing a free weekend with issues unresolved. This could only have been improved if the DLC would have been ready earlier.

Yeah nice numbers, I suggest everyone playing be a little helpful with the new players, i am sure they will be plenty of confused people in game.
