Ignoring the multi-page discussion going on here, I just wanted to mention that I really enjoyed listening to the RPS podcast. I like hearing Brink news. I found links for the two Seasteader articles that were mentioned at 12 minutes in.

Brink Interviews Make Weekends Better

And, can you continue your own charge if you pause for a few seconds (what we saw in the vid was the other guys charge disappear when he got killed, we’ve never seen a guy stop in the middle then come back)?
Also been wondering about this.
I have a feeling you probably have to rearm it from 0%, unless theres some wonderful ability that allows you to do that.
Who knows?
Exedore!?

Yeam that’s what I’m guessing as far as plants go: It’s an animation and the object (bomb) doesn’t appear until the end of the animation right?
It’s not like in ETQW where you plant then arm, in Brink you arm then plant. If you get killed while arming, no plant, so its reasonable that no one else can continue your plant. It’s also reasonable I guess that you’d have to start your own over, but who cares about reasonable, what would work best in game? I wonder if this is one of the things SD is testing/tweaking (being able to pause and come back to yoru own charge or not).
On the disarm though, you’re freezing it or something right? Seems like you should be able to continue the process if you pause to defend yourself, or that someone else could continue where you left off if you die, or that two people doing it at the same time would complete it twice as fast.
Maybe they are only letting one person arm/disarm at a time because of all the people crying that someone stole their plant/build/disarm in ETQW
sometimes in ETQW it would even give credit for the build to a person not even near the objective and the person (me) was like wtf?!?
Or TK someone because you could get first place :armadillo :
I miss FF on non hardcore servers in BC2. So you could kill those retarded snipers and UAV users

It’s because of that exact behaviour that FF is off on those servers and why it will be off be default on Brink “quick match” servers. Generally the only reason FF is off is because of griefers and thats what you are when you do that (regardless of your reasons).
That’s too bad because FF off teaches bad habits, playing on those servers for awhile teaches you to ignore the potential harm you can do to your team mates, and when you switch and play a FF on server you tend to piss off your team mates becasue of all the careless teamkills you rack up.
It’s kind of interesting, the more popular a game is the more there is a need to make servers FF off by default. It’s a perfect example of how the actions of just a few can lesson the over-all experience for everyone (not just the guys they are actually griefing).
So, while guys who are playing the game differently than you may want them to may lesson your experience, you lesson everyone elses as well when you teamkill them as your response.

It’s a lack of imagination.
I never said I did such things… But when a teammate isn’t really helping at all (like most UAV drivers). Those people need to be tk’ed in my opinion. I sertainly hope my clan will turn team damage on…
no need for TKs, that’s what admins are for
You mean for annoying other players and griefing?
…Then you harden the farque up and realise that it’s a pub game, and someone “failing” at the UAV isn’t REALLY hurting your team all that much.
You mean for annoying other players and griefing?
badum-tsh
That’s all too true in Raven Shield. If you don’t confirm to the rules that the admins makes up on the spot, the magically make you die.
Doesn’t the credit go to the person that built the most?
e.g. If I build 80% then die and you finish off the last 20%, I’ll get credit even though I’m still in the base
No, you get points for constructing, like 2xp every 2sec you build, dunno for the 10xp you got for finishing it.
I really missed a clear xp reward table in ETQW, W:ET had one, but ETQW didn’t. Brink truly should have one as it will get people pursuing the right things right off the bat.
