So it’s less then 24hr before the steam works unlock, and unless I’m mistake, I have never ever seen it advertized on the front page, the closest it’s ever got is listed on “new releases”. Freaking Magicka was on the front page like forever. I suppose it’s too late to do anything about it now
Wouldn’t it of been nice to have seen it up there at least for the last week of pre-orders? Bethesda’s fault?
Brink in the Steam store
There was a steam popup for it on the day of preload availability.
It said pre-purchase and pre-load now.
#2 on top sellers when it’t not on sale, not advertised and no TF2 hats are offered for it…that’s saying a lot.
I wonder if EA felt threatened by Brink? It’s funny they had a weeklong sale on Steam ending on the day before Brink’s release.
Fault, I donno. Maybe, Bethesda were satisfied with the number of pre-orders and decided the front page wasn’t worth spending dough on.
I still havent been able to get any info on how the steam front page works. I mean why would steam charge publishers to put their game on front page when they already make tons of money from selling the games? it’s in steam’s interest to get games sold. Specially new games, isn’t it?
OH well w/e at least the game is selling like crazy at d2d

A good point, As I said before, Magikca $10 indie game(exclusive to steam?), seemed to be on the front of the steam store for at least a month. Where as Brink is $50 and non-indie. I would bet that Steam has much higher flexibility with how much profit they can make from a more affordable indie game rather then a higher priced mainstream game with many competitors, and already has many other advertizes. It’s already steam works, meaning they are going to get more potential steam customers no mater where it’s bought.
It’s really too bad there wasn’t a TF2 hat promo for Brink, I doubt it would have coasted much to arrange it, and would grab a good chunk of the tf2 community.
It really is strange that the EA-sale finishes with the Battlefield-franchise. Maybe EA is really nervous about the success of Brink? I for one hope it kicks Dice’s a** since they really dropped the ball (again) with BFBC2 support-wise. No BF3 for me, that is for sure.
Yaeh, I don’t understand. Why isn’t Bethesda doing anything, do they and Valve have a problem with each other? Because other games have had the feature a long time before release. And Brink is doing good in top sells.
I don’t think anyone should be threatened by Brink.
Just loaded the Steam site then and Brink was the first banner to pop up in the slider
Top seller is now BC2 because it’s only $6.80. Brink is #2. EA, you play a dirty game, you jerks. It’s a good thing I’m not pre-ordering BF3.
