Brink has a lobby system! its just hard to find

Go to 48:15 and listen to Richard Ham. He explains that the lobby system is actually a much better system than the current ones in traditional FPS games. Instead of it being a screen, it is a warm up mode where you essentially play Team Deathmatch against bots. You invite friends and then wait for them to join and once they do you all join a game of humans vs humans.

Except that’s not how it is? The warm up mode = everyone team killing.

After matches, it needs to go to global chat by default.

It’s better like MW’s lobby would be better if I could play checkers while it fills up…

What do you mean? (I haven’t actually tried it) It seems like Richard is saying that once all of your friends join the warm up game you can all join another game together.

Very missleading topic title imho. But this video proves it: We are betatesters. They know the serverbrowser sucks at its current state. Also the grayed out “koop” mode for campaing shows that. You normally should be able to play campaing in vs mode. the option is there but not (yet?) implemented. They just put in this serverbrowser to make the game asap launchable imho… ;/

edit: Or is there actually the mentioned “warmup” mode?! I havent found one yet…

Every competitive FPS I ever played had a warm up mode where you can do exactly what you do in Brink now. What is being asked for is a global chat at the END of the game. So you can drop the GG’s in.

?! Where do i join the warmup mode?! I usually join into games already running a while. When the map changes there is no warmup mode either. or is it console only? Im playing the pc version

If you play in Old Skool gametypes there is a warm up period, where you can basically do anything in the game you want until enough people ready up. The problem is that you can’t do that in private matches.

I hope they make the warmup work for every game-mode…it just feels natural, after 3years of ETQW :smiley:

I just joined a server that only had 3 players, waiting for a 4th to join. It was in warm up mode but I we were unable to join into the game and actually enjoy the warm up mode.

So far my experiences with the warm up mode has been: Team Killing Fests or Can’t Even Even Spawn Waits
