Brink Giveaway Contest?

I know before Borderlands came out there was a forum for the game and they did a giveaway to 5 members of the forum, if they had a minimum of 10-20 posts. I was just wondering if anything like that is gunna happen with this game?

Expos? HAHA. I’m a Canadian Prairie kid, man. There’s no way I’d get to any of the expos. Like I say, I’m just wondering if there’s gunna be a game giveaway… if there is I wanna get in on qualifying for it. No hurt in trying, is there? I mean… I got Borderlands for nothing from the Borderlands forum… got nothing to lose really, can only gain :smiley:

Would be nice if there was some sort of compition ran in order to gain something, but it can’t be just given away randomly…

Matsy, the line of reasoning behind giving it away randomly to ~ +10 posts is to bring random people in where they will, in theory, get interested, hyped or even invested in the game via the forums and buy it.

basing something like that on post counts just leads to misery for the regular forum users, maybe that’s something best handled by the Bethesda Foums

Hmm, we get no expos at all in Australia (other than the Aussie indie games expos) :wink:

Lies! It should be given to those making the effort to travel 500+ miles to get to an Expo, have been here for over 7 years, and have over 1500 posts :smiley:

That was kinda the theory behind the Borderlands giveaway I think. Was to bring people to the forum, get into the game and just have publicity for the forum and the game. Although, I see this forum isn’t purely about Brink… so that causes a problem. Seeing as not everyone can qualify the same way. The veterans want to be qualify-able by having 500-1500 posts minimum, member of the forum for 5+ years, etc. Where as noobs to the forum, such as myself can’t qualify no matter what we do.

I agree with the “post numbers only show spamming abilities” statement, as well. But I can see that this may not be the place to bring this sort of thing up.
