Brink gameplay footage
now you’re taking the thread out of context and making it into something that it didn’t start as…

theme of thread:
here’s a video of brink, how come it doesn’t look anything like this video?
one response:
actually, i think it does look like that

note: i take this as a general response that the game, more or less, does look like the video. of course there are some minor differences, and obviously the bot dialogue and the 3rd exit, etc are different, but the video is certainly recognizable as what the game looks like - more or less (which is I’m quite certain TH’s point).

you’ve displaced the original discussion point with a different (but related) point, and are judging the original discussion under the terms of your new framework - but you didnt admit to as much, instead, you made a lame comment about being supposedly ‘baffled’ by the logic of the original framework.

yes you are absolutely correct. if we create two identically situated screen captures of the original footage with current gameplay footage, there will be some noticeable differences in the details. happy?
Thank you Suzuki - you understood what I meant perfectly. I swear some people are taking videogames waaayyyy to seriously.

The explosion effects defenitly look a lot better in that video, also you dont have the fancy reflective textures, looks like all that was tuned down because perfomance issues.

Its so funny to read how people want better grafics while a lot of others try to tune them down to the absolute minimum for better fps and higher visibility of enemies. Diversity is a great thing

You don’t have that luxury on console, so they tend to want the game to look as good as possible. If you could change graphics settings on console, I would definitely sacrifice visuals for performance like I did on PC. And change the FOV to 110.

yeah - all the complaints about texture pop and the like, while i understand (i guess), really dont matter to me - i really am looking at just a few places when I’m playing - and it’s not the walls. (PS3)
