Someone is going to want to take the initiative on getting Brink a site similar to ETQW for Newbies. A whole new crowd of fps gamers have been attracted to the game, and they will be spamming the forums quite soon due to their ignorance when it comes to playing a new style of game
. If your reading a CoD console gamer’s review, big FYI THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG!! trolololol. But seriously though, I would love to see someone work on getting a Brink4Newbies site up asap cuz its going to get a ton of traffic.
Brink for newbies
I think it might be a great idea to make a series of video tutorials to show the new players how the HUD, Objectives, Classes and Battlefield works…
NOT ENUFFFFFFFFFFFF! Gotta emphasize dat team play and teach these kids how to aim @ head. Tooooo many iron sighting rambo nerds making videos.
A better idea might be to present ‘Brink For CoD Vets’. It’s not condescending and allows to immediately address a large segment’s particular expectations/language.
- Brink is not TDM, nor is it about K/D at all. It’s all about teamwork, not your kill count.
- Brink is all about cycling through a series of CTF/Sabotage/Headquarters- like objectives.
- Ammo and damage is lower than CoD- you have to give/get buffs and you need to put more bullets into people.
- The best(fun) matches have balanced teams and are competitive until the very last moment.

Good idea. This way it makes them feel like they are important.
lol i see what you did there… :oppressor:
anyway… i think it s pretty funny that even after these tutorial vids were released many people still have not the slightest idea how the gameplay will be.
you still see people comparing Brink with Killzone, TF2, or Borderlands… BORDERLANDS lol
Don’t start overgeneralizing.
I’m an ETQW newbie (played the console demo), but I’m not new to teamplay in games.
Some of us have played more than CoD, like TF2, Battlefield, and so on. Many of us will be fine.
As long as people here aren’t douche bags to newer members and welcoming then this should be a pretty good spot
I’ll be doing my Brink Video Tutorial Series, same as I did for ETQW back in the day. I think the original series was about 3 hours of video goodness when all was said and done. Brink may not need that much given how much more streamlined it seems, of course.
Dug these up…
