(Ecano) #1

Is in the SD plans to relase a Brink version for Mac?

In ETQW arrived late but is running fine

As a former Apple hater I can only laugh at how narrow minded you are. Once I started using the damned things I started loving them. MacBook + windows 7, match made in heaven.

(BomBaKlaK) #6

It work for Apple / Windows !! same !

just found it this morning and make my laught !

(Paul) #7

I guess it will be, idTech 5 is OpenGL too so

Just because someone posts a picture expressing an extreme viewpoint doesn’t mean the poster is narrow-minded. I thought it was pretty funny, though profane.

I challenge the wisdom of buying a MacBook to run Win 7, to me the ONLY advantage to Macs is the OS, hardware seems to be lacking especially in graphics, not to mention the cost

(Auzner) #10

Agreed. Perhaps people are ignorant of their options? Peer pressure to buy an Apple? Someone in my apt got evicted and all their stuff is by the dumpster, including a MBP box, which would afford several months rent.

Hi guys, it was no my intention to generate Mac vs Windows discussion, but I have to say that at home we changed to Mac after to have several and repetitive Windows problems. We were tired to loose our time being Windows helpdesk, and now we are just happy Mac customers.

I fact when my wife created her sw company my only condition was to use Mac stuff.

We use Windows only for the games that doesn’t run in Mac, via bootcamp. A good example is SC2, in the same DVD was coming PC and Mac version…

(Nail) #12

not questioning the wisdom of buying a Mac, bought my oldest girl one last year, just running Win 7

but now I see you mean it as Win 7 for non supported games, etc

carry on

(Auzner) #13

How is Starcraft 2 a good example? That was co-released for Windows and Mac.

(Nail) #14

I think he means as an example of a supported game

(system) #15

I challenge the wisdom of playing games on laptops.
Anyway, the macbook is not for gaming and the windows on it is for countless programs that are not on mac os, tortoise svn and beyond compare being two of them. Also, i need both mac os and windows and it’s powerfull enough to have windows running in a virtual machine. Also battery life in a macbook is better than anything else others have to offer, screen quality and overall reliability is something I value also.

(Herandar) #16

The battery life in my wife’s dearly departed Macbook (just stopped working one day) was utter **** compared to the Acer I’m using right now.

Actually, most Apple products I have known just stop working without any outward signs of distress. Except my IIGS–I took that to college in 1996. My dumbass brother threw it out of the third floor window into a dumpster in 2005.

(Nail) #17

my girl loves her MacBook, but at almost $2K, it was a little much for a dual core

my G4 used to crash more often than a Win ME

(madoule) #18

i’ve had the discussion with my room-mate for 1 year straight, me aiming for a decent 18’’ laptop (1.5k), he aiming for his mac book for 2k. almost the identical specs. he’d however just had his onboard graphic card, whereas mine is housing a separate (i have to say ā€œin laptop termsā€ decent) NVidia Geforce GTS250 GPU. my point being: apple is just simultaneously smart and impudent with their pricetags.

funny side story: first thing he did: install Windows 7 and CoD MW2. XD thats a good thing to do with a macbook…

(Herandar) #19

With the one button Apple mouse???

(Ecano) #20

We are playing with:

Macbook pro Dual core2-2Gb-NVIDIA 8600GT -> ETQW at 90-100 fps

Macbook Pro i7-4Gb-NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M -> ETQW at 130-140 fps

I think that is a decent outcome.
