brink for free for two weeks when dlc releases?

Honestly! SD

People just need to see what the game offers. The videos you used to do were great, I felt. Those last series of videos really told me what I was going to get from this game.

I would link up more intimately with BRINK TV and get some great ideas hashed out. Get those BRINK TV competition videos and edit them up into a series of highlight reels. Then gets some testimonials from players about the matches seen in the highlight reel.

And kick out a nice video spotlighting the new content for the Agents of Change DLC.

**I have tried to contact SD several times to do an interview on www.evga.com/gaming.

I never heard back!

A free weekend is great

Take it from a former F2p game producer… You can’t just go Free-2-play people. You need a strong existing community and/or a mighty fine and super deep item shop. BRINK has neither of these right now.

I could see BRINK going f2p much much later…similar to TF2 life cycle to free-2-play. Maybe not quite 4yrs. But not 2months after launch.

The game is fantastic. It needs a lot. But we wouldn’t have time to focus on all the petty bits if there was regular content updates. The story model of the game works, but only with continual episodes, expanding the plot and introducing new weapons, maps, abilities and customization clothing options.

There is a super solid foundation here. Just build on it. Make it better from here. I’m not a TF2 fan but the game has grown by leaps and bounds over time–making it a much better game. I don’t think BRINK will be better in 4yrs. Its good now. But it needs regular repeated attention.

Also what happened to weapons skins. I know they are possible? SD offered them with various pre-order pack (or maybe just the DOOM pack)

When I say brink should go f2p I mean they should go f2p and have a vanity store. I mean it’s perfect. A huge chunk of brink is customization (which ofc is bugged -_-).

Saying it is way easier than doing it. Its not there now so it would have to built from the ground up. And that makes no sense for good BRINK business at this point.

(nick1021) #25

That’s what TF2 did.

(Bittermetal) #26

No that is not what tf2 did. TF2 did not go F2P 2 months after its release. TF2 did not have an item shop 2months after its release. Its not even apples and oranges. It more like apples and tractor trailers.

What I’m saying is TF2 didn’t have a vanity store from the start. They built it from the ground up.

Yes, just 2 weeks
