[drupal=848]Brink DLC Coming Next Week, Console Title Update Out Today![/drupal]

We’ve got several great pieces of Brink news for you today, including a release date for the “Agents of Change” DLC and a new title update for the console versions of Brink.
Agents of Change

First of all, we’re delighted to be able to announce that both the Brink “Agents of Change” DLC has passed certification for the consoles and will be released on Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam on 3 August! Once it’s out, you’ll be able to download it for free for two whole weeks (and if you do so, you’ll be able to re-download the content at no charge later on, too).
Agents of Change brings two new maps to Brink, Founders’ Tower and Labs, as well as five new player abilities, two new outfits, and two weapon attachments- for more information on all the new content you’ll find in the pack, check out this previous blog update. Naturally, Agents of Change also contains several new Xbox/Steam achievements and PSN trophies for you to go after.
To celebrate the impending release of Agents of Change, we’ve got a bunch of new screenshots showing off both Founders’ Tower and Labs. You can find those sprinkled throughout this update, like so:

Xbox 360/PS3 Title Update

But that’s not all! In addition to Agents of Change, we’ve also been hard at work on a comprehensive new title update for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of Brink. Better yet, this update is available on Xbox Live right now, with PlayStation 3 set to receive it later today. Keep on reading for some of the highlights - we’ve also got the full, unedited changelog at the very end of this blog.

can someone over at splash damage shake the hand of the environment artist for me? it looks so beautiful! thats real art in my eyes…

(sadly the freaking hud will destroy that beauty)

(zenstar) #6

Yep. Them’s some purty looking maps. Can’t wait to put bullet holes in them

(Shinigami) #7

Hallelujah!
EDIT:

I just noticed the facepaint of the steam punk. is that new?

(BiigDaddyDellta) #8

Eeek, I’m a little sad I figured this thread would BOOM…

No fixes for pc? Great!

(kronus126) #10

Only a month late. Is there any word on fixing team switching and team balance? It is incredibly annoying to have your entire team jump ship because they only want to defend.

(Terminator514) #11

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

(Terminator514) #12

It will, just wait until later on.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #13

yeah, people with their jobs and schools not being online… HOW DARE THEY lol.

(RaKeD) #14

Congratulations guys !!!

Those maps look fantastic, very positive atmosphere :stuck_out_tongue:

You have fantastic artist SD ! This game has so much style from the weapons to the levels and outfits!!

(EnderWiggin.DA.) #15

woot! looking forward to some new maps.

(MrFoxer) #16

Two maps are not worth $10. I guess that includes the dlc, kinda stupid, I thought the new abilities would be free for everyone. Just not the maps.

(zenstar) #17

The PC has already had these fixes applied. It’s easier to roll up patches in the DLC for Xbox and PS3 due to the certification process. PC is much easier for them to patch so we’ve had the patch for a while now (plus PC is a good testbed because it’s quick to change).

Improved network syncing when placing HE charges and hack devices

I assume this translates to a shorter delay between getting the prompt, pressing the button, and my guy performing the action?

Gave Freeplay game mode bots a fixed difficulty (rather than time-based scaling)

So we weren’t smoking our breakfast. This time.

Extensive weapon balance changes
Sorry Carbaholics!

Changed default matchmaking from “My Rank” to “My Rank or Higher”
It’s not lobbies, but it’ll certainly help.

Removed the “Advanced” config from the list to reduce number of matchmaking buckets
Ditto.

Added Stopwatch review screen
Changed stopwatch rules to keep track of number of objectives during calculation of winning team
Will be nice to have some quantitative values to argue over!

Removed the delay when team switching in match warm-up
Awesome! Now when trying to balance teams, we won’t be temporarily screwing either the team we’re leaving, or (usually) the team we’re attempting to join.

Added/moved respawn and time limit values into Netvars for future tweaking
I would imagine changes to netvars like these might be minisule in size and unnoticable without one really looking hard at them…Will you still announce these possible future adjustments, so we know the rules (of battle) have changed (or are about to)?

Added body-type health to the netvars for future tweaking
See previous.

Updated Terminal & Reactor to work with changes to atmosphere code
No idea what this means, but right on~

Fixed Light body types being able to wield Heavy weapons
Right on.

Fixed Combat Intuition ability revealing disguised Operatives
Operatives rejoice!

Fixed several stat reporting issues
Fixed bullets’ point of impact varying from client to client
Fixed overtime not kicking in on Shipyard 1st objective
Fixed overtime not ending on Reactor when the hackbox is removed
Fixed bots not performing objectives on Security Tower after map migration
Fixed issue with diminishing returns on wall jumps not being applied
Fixed incorrect command post screens being shown after cutscenes
Added support for dummy sound files to improve loading times in FIGS
/thumbsup

Fixed being able to place mines on certain walls
Mines on WALLS? This a reference to satchel charges? or can engineers actually place mines on walls (to discourage wall-jumping!)? I’ve never actually tried.

Fixed 3rd person hacking animation not playing
Fixed being able to see through walls when peeking
Fixed an issue with FIGS voiceovers not always being played
Fixed some logic bugs in stopwatch winner calculations
Fixed objective completion count on Aquarium
/thumbsup

Fixed player nametags disappearing after flash bang even when they are not affected
Any tweak to flashbangs with Friendly Fire on, so I’m not blinding my teammates?

Fixed default save data icon not being displayed
Fixed thin white bar found to the extreme right of round edged UI boxes
/thumbsup

Fixed conflicts in the French code.lang causing some default strings to appear
Voila!

Fixed dark shadow-band appearing on narrow fields-of-view
Fixed debug text appearing at the end of the credits

/thumbsup

Thought the pc was gonna get some more weapon tweaks maybe a few fps cvars unlocked too?

(Artvarg) #20

couldn’t find anything about the the low-res textures and texture pops on the xbox. or is this fixed already? i haven’t played for a long time.
