[drupal=766]Brink Coverage Round-up: PAX East and Beyond[/drupal]

PAX East has come and gone, and it was an absolutely fantastic show for Brink. With queues stretching to up to six hours and a community event that was completely full over an hour before it even started, interest in the game was about as high as it gets. Many hundreds of people got to play the game over the three days of the show - a lot of them coming through two or three times over the course of the show. The response has been utterly great and we’d like to throw a general thank you out there to everyone who stopped by and those who helped make it all happen.
If you couldn’t make it out to PAX East, we recommend checking out forum member Maawdawg’s super-detailed write-up over at The Brink Forum. It’s not only full of Brink impressions, but also gives you a pretty good idea of what the show was like for those heeding the call of Brink. In other PAX East news, we’re delighted to see that Brink made Strategy Informer’s Top 10 Games of PAX East, vaulting straight into the #3 position and making it the highest-placed shooter on the list.
But that’s not all - there are plenty of other new write-ups from PAX East and even the preceding Brink press tour. Here’s a list:

In addition to getting some hands-on time with Brink, we also had plenty of people stop by to interview members of the development team. If Q&As make you happy, have a look at these:

You dev type humanoids have been a little more active on here of late… I take it that’s a good sign that you’re all breathing easier and things are nicely wrapped up ready for May? :smiley:

It’s still not May yet… AWW /sadface

Has anyone else heard anything about the private beta SD is doing with Brink on XBL April 16th?

I would tongue dart Paul’s fartstar for a PC demo:eek:

Sorry to break it to you, but that event seems to be a mistake : http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23653

Hmmm, well that clears up that there is no demo, but there still could be a closed beta for xbl users :wink:

Doesn’t do me any good either way, I know they had a PS3 closed beta back in December and just thought that they might be having an xbox and therefore a PC.

Well, I’ll just do this :stroggbanana: in the mean time while I wait for May 17th…

The closed ps3 beta was with professional beta testers. It was not some thinly veiled publicity demo like the Killzone 3 beta.

(badfish4444) #9

Did I say that it was? I was just stating that there was a closed PS3 beta. If it was a thinly veiled publicity demo I don’t think it would be closed. I am not discrediting SD beta’s or work. I am just stating that there was a private beta and thought that there might be others for the other systems :rolleyes:.

PS3 had a closed beta because of the difficulties with the platform.

Sounds like a fair trade Mr Wedgewood :wink:

Thanks Darkangel for that info, I didn’t know they were having issues with the PS3 platform. Makes since though that they would hold a closed beta for the PS3 then and not for the other two.

LyndonL is right, my offer still stands :tongue: :wink:
