Please don’t do that ‘first’ crap

Exophase some how managed to conclude that the operative was the fastest class, and didnt seem to notice that there were bodytypes…lol…

Noice! Thanks for the info.

That GameTrailers review was just what we needed.

From www.3angrygamers.com

I know I only played a beta and this is supposed to simply be a preview, but I was truly floored by the experience. At the end of our match I was left white-knuckled, inches from the monitor, desperately wanting more. Unless Splash Damage guts what I saw and turns this into a dating-sim before its release, this will be a hit. If it’s not a best seller, shame on all of you for not buying it. Shaaaaaaaaaame!

Only 51 more days…

My dream is over … No Heavy Medic !!!

At first, I played a large lumbering character, armed with a railgun similar to The Heavy’s weapon in Team Fortress 2. As expected for the class, I was slow and hardy. My physical type allowed me to be one of three classes: the operative, the engineer and the soldier. Each class allowed me to have special abilities. For example, as the operative, I could take over the identity of a downed enemy, while as an engineer, I could buff my own gun damage and other players’.

Switching to a light character, I could also be a medic. [EDIT: Apparently you can’t be a medic as a large body type. For some reason, I didn’t see the option.]

lies! There is bound to be misinformed/idiot reporters. Every body type can play any class.

(Weeohhweeohh) #10

IMO a heavy medic makes sense. On the other hand, a heavy operative does not. A brick wall trying to sneak around behind enemy lines does not add up…just sayen

(BomBaKlaK) #11

Well ! you give me a little hope

We’ll see that in time !

(Humate) #12

Heavy operative makes sense.
You probably want to avoid getting stickybombed, or knocked down via melee as a Heavy.
By going operative you can spot disguised operatives trying to pull those moves on you.

(Weeohhweeohh) #13

I was just making the point that heavy medics make more sense then heavy operatives. Sure there are going to be people that spend skill points into the operative skill tab, but they are going to be building a niche character.

edit: sorry I’m drunk…was trying to point out that all body types can be all classes. Niche or not, anything is possible.

(badman) #14

Body types don’t restrict classes. In fact, Mr Fluffy_gIMp plays as a Heavy Medic all the time.

Chainguns and syringes go well together, apparently.

(Crytiqal) #15

So, can a operative get the disguise of any fallen enemy? regardless of bodytype?

I think the answer was yes, but just checking.
If so, do you also move slower if you got the disguise of a heavy, and faster if you took the diguise of a light? Or is this meanth to be an indicator that someone is in disguise if you see a “heavy” vaulting over a high wall?

That would require some more operative mindset for someone in disguise NOT to go over high walls when in disguise in order to keep his appearance

(JeP) #16

All that is true and has been describe by devs, yes !

Here’s an interesting video about PAX East: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSc2v90kTgc&feature=feedu

Seems like a lot of money was put into this. Although I somewhat feel like the number of people who this event influenced is smaller when you would just put it into regular ads or videos. But what do I know about marketing.

Video has been removed. Is there another link for this one?
