Brink Character Deleted

In summary: I had a Brink character that I had used for about 3 hours. I Alt Tab out to the internet while I was eating, leaving Brink on the main menu. About 20 minutes later, while still on the internet, an error pops up about Brink. I don’t know what it said, I don’t care. It wasn’t a windows error, it was a brink error, because the error window had the Brink logo on the top corner. It said something like Brink Server error or something, I don’t know. I clicked exit, and Brink closed. I re-open Brink, and my character is gone. I don’t wish to redo everything I did; how do I get my character back? Has this happened to anyone?

Mabey the character did not save properly? Just my guess.

Maybe he went on a phsycotic rampage around the internet next time im watchin a video on youtube or something if I see some Brink guy kickin ass I will let you know

In the future it would be better if you mentioned the error or window that popped up. (aka the content, not just some window popped up…)

I made a second character just for fun, so I could have a different-looking one, and his look overwrote the first character’s look.:frowning:

Mine were too. I wanted to stream for some friends, so I went to Brink.exe, right clicked, went to properties, compatibility, then I checked ‘disable visual themes’ ‘disable desktop composition’ and ‘Run this program as an administrator’. When I loaded it back up, I lost all my characters and it acted like I never played it before. I tried changing it back, but it didn’t work. 12 hours down the drain I guess.

Same thing happened to my friend when he went into the brink config in notepad and changed r_shadows to 0. Seems like if you change anything in there you’ll lose them all.

Yeah, well I don’t care anymore. Restarted and got farther than before. But if it happens again… Then im gonna have to :stroggtapir: hard in the :penguin: while I :stroggbanana: your :oppressor:
