Brink - An Update from Splash Damage

(Locki) #1

A new story entry has been added:
[drupal=803]Brink - An Update from Splash Damage[/drupal]

Now that Brink has been released in North America, we’ve had hundreds of thousands of people create their character and join the civil war for the Ark. Seeing the game out there being played and enjoyed by so many is very exciting for us, and we’ve been hopping into multiplayer matches ourselves to get in on the action with all of you.
Before we dive into this blog update, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who’s been sharing their feedback about Brink. We keep a close eye on what all of you have been saying about the game and wanted to give you an update on what’s been happening on our end:

Thank you Paul and team

Paul

I have never doubted you and the teams dedication to the players

Well done to you all

While most people i kow are not reporting any issues it is good to hear that SD is still as commited to making there games better as they were in QW

Much love form all at OCB and sGs

(beute) #4

just got an update and hoped it would be the fov fix :frowning:

(hailey) #5

So no ETA on when this game actually becomes playable on ATI cards? Great

(Pez) #6

Good stuff guys. Paul, thanks for responding to me and thanks for the updates. I hope this will sort out a fair few of the comments in the forums. Something Mr E Mentioned in my thread is whether you could have a simple sticky listing known errors and status. Not ideal in terms of marketing, I understand, but in terms of community, it would be a huge leap forward in terms of pro-active customer management

:penguin: <-- Comon…it IS a penguin

Thank you Splash + Beth + Devs + Dedicated Community players helping to make BRINK awesome!

Can’t wait for EU release.

Yes, finally acknowledgement! Just like i asked!

Hopefully they can fix the major problems this week or by next week.

(Ragoo) #9

I love you SD <3

Thanks Locki and it’s great to see Steam being leveraged to drop patches quickly. Hopefully we’ll be over the bugs and onto last minute features really soon.

(Waaaggh) #11

Please, any word about this:

It’s my only issue with this game. Me and just about any Radeon HD 4000 users have this same problem

(dazman76) #12

Thanks for the update Paul + team, always appreciated  Roll on Friday, dag nammit.

(tokamak) #13

As stated in Paul’s update, we’re looking at various hardware issues to provide fixes for them. I’m unable to provide an ETA or a specific list of what’s being fixed at the moment, but rest assured that your concerns are being heard.

Give it an upvote

I don’t think I have missed it but I have started Brink up three times today and I have not seen a new update. Are you sure it is out there, ready?

(Locki) #18

Pez - There are a bunch of us at SD desperate for the FOV fix too! I’m an old-school fov 110 q1tf guy myself… I can see how we missed it though… It’s specific to SMART and worked fine in our final test (offline!) but was unfortunately committed as a networked CVAR - it’s already fixed, but couldn’t be tested in time for this update… Won’t be long though!

Waaaggh - I had the same thing in Tribes 2 a decade ago and it drove me crazy… Super annoying to own a good card and get performance or graphical glitches (same too for Hailey - I’m so sorry!). No excuses! I’ll ask for news when I get in tomorrow…

Sweet Paul. Not dissing, hope you understand. Infact, I’m really hoping I can give you enough grief that all of this is fixed in time for 9.00am Friday when I pick it up in Maidenhead  - Sent you a PM about a completely outrageous non topic

I meant to ask actually, how many/much of the CFG/Cvar is editable - or editable from your side?. I’ve seen a few re-jigged programmes based around W:ET being released to adjust these to increase frame rate and reduce lag. Legit? Or hold out?

Damit…also, one more…lol…Is there any possible chance of manipulation of the display data on the screen - or even changing the transparency within options of it?

What about the issue everyone is concerned about regarding the lack of a lobby for multiplayer (on the Xbox 360, in my case)? If you guys could please fill us in on what you plan to do about that, it’d be greatly appreciated – even if you just let us know whether or not you ARE going to do something about it (which we really, really, really, REALLY want you to do – i cannot stress that enough). My friends and I don’t even bother going into Public matches because most of the time we can’t all get in. That’s kinda lame.

On the bright side, i’m loving this game in most all other aspects, and I look forward to future updates and the statistics site. I have faith in you guys, you seem like a great group!

Thanks, guys!
