Brink #13 on XBL

Based on Unique Users, Brink is at the #12 spot of top XBL titles. I think Crysis 2 was somewhere around that spot last month… now it’s gone. I expect the same to happen to Brink. I’m not saying the game sucks, but let’s face it… not exactly the most loved game right now. If you think it’s hard finding a game now… just wait…

edit: misread it, it’s actually #12, not 13.

Yet another little digg hidden amongst a seemingly harmless thread… Where it stands in any listing does not bother me because I love the game and i’m sure the thousands of others playing right now feel the same.

I think Xbox users need to just relax a bit and hold off, once their version has been fixed properly they may be in love too.

I’m in love with the game, too! But I’m not really sure how much longer I want to stick around. Right now I’m having the hardest time finding a populated match… usually I get connected to a 2v2 and it’s always laggy.

A group of regulars STILL play Perfect Dark Zero all the time too and that game was released on day 1 of Xbox 360.

Another thing: I have no problem finding games. What do you mean???

Ok, I hate this mentality – “I don’t have those problems, that means that it really doesn’t exist.” It means that A LOT of people (not just me) have a hard time playing games… Standard, Advanced, Competition, or Old Skool. Sometimes it connects to good games, other times it would connect to the same laggy game over and over and over no matter how many times you try you get connected to the same exact game.

I never said this game sucked. I’m saying it’s soon becoming a ghost town.

(Bakercompany) #6

Say what you want, but this game lost popularity fast.

(yoomazir) #7

you can say it’s pretty much dead already :-/

…and I didn’t say you think the game sucks or that you don’t have problems finding games to play, Mr “Reading Comprehension Fail”.

I just stated that I have no problem finding games online. I have been able to connect to games all the time. Just last night I played for 3 hours and had NO LAG all night (it’s a miracle). I played with 5 friends in the same XBL party, and took that group online vs other people.

Point being, maybe there’s something up with your connection? When do you play? I was playing last night from 7pm-10pm PST.

If I had the problem you were having with connecting to the same laggy game OVER AND OVER, I’d prolly just do a hard reset and try again.

I’m an Xbox user and I happen to agree with this statement.

We’ve had the game a week. A WEEK! And so far we have already received a day one update.

And look at all the hater posts on the forums. This is by far the most impatient generation of gamers so far. SD have said that they are working on fixes, releasing dlc NEXT MONTH, and making it free! I think a months grace is warranted, at least, so see if this game can reach its potential on Xbox.

No, I am not an SD kiss ass. I just figure i can have the attention span of my age group.

I’d like to see the lag completely removed so we can have our 8v8 lag free objective matches back. Because if you have more bots than players on your team, you lose. It’s that simple.

Everything about the gameplay is tight though. The shooting, the weapons (SMG’s are too powerful), the classes, everything is great.

Just get the game running the way it was supposed to and it’ll be fine. Won’t be up for game of the year anytime soon, but it’ll be fun.

Naw plenty of matches to be found. And provided the game doesn’t stupidly put you right back in the match you left, its always different players.

This game will probably have better survival than say, Transformers: WFC as SD already has a fan base. So this game will survive with at least a small cult following even if it doesn’t maintain some kind of main stream popularity.

Transformer wfc sucked and my opinion but this game i don’t understand all the hate[QUOTE=Bakercompany;316698]Naw plenty of matches to be found. And provided the game doesn’t stupidly put you right back in the match you left, its always different players.

WFC was brilliant. All 4 classes were great (after the Leader nerf). Transforming was super useful and seemless. All the weapons were fun. Great game, shame its online community is completely dead. At least I hit Max Prime before it died =D

EDIT: Forgot to mention. WFC had lobbies, virtually no lag from the start, several game modes PLUS a horde style mode, and an amazing campaign both solo or coop. So much polish in that game… If it were a unique title instead of Transformers it would have maintained popularity much better.

Yeah I mean the game was fun for awhile but it just wasn’t my thing[QUOTE=Bakercompany;316706]WFC was brilliant. All 4 classes were great (after the Leader nerf). So by your standards, it’s ok for a game to be almost unplayable upon release? I’m not sure about the rest of you, but I expect a game to work when it is released. I don’t care what game it is… I don’t care if it’s COD, Brink, Battlefield (and I’m a huuge Battlefield fan). If BF3 came out (and I’ve been waiting for that game since BF2) and had these kinds of issues, you best believe I would complain about it also!

I know games aren’t perfect when they are released and I know that they end up being patched along the line. I don’t agree with that practice, but I understand. BRINK, however, is an extreme case. No other major recent game has this much damn lag. Rubberbanding? Really? Can’t remember the last time that has happened to me on a console… and with this much frequency!

So whatever defend the game… I defend the game, too. But at least I’m not blind to the flaws of this game and don’t give stupid excuses like “Oh, it’s only been out for a week.” Exactly… it’s RELEASED… yet it feels like we have a beta?

(Bakercompany) #18

This is why betas are so important.

I just don’t see how after years of development, they would have no idea that this kind of lag would exist… Every match is laggy almost so even if they turned on the xbox version once.

But I suspect the Xbox version wasn’t even playtested, and everything was done on PC.

Xbox version really feels like an afterthought.
