Bring back the classics.

Any chance of bringing the stock maps from Enemy Territory Wolfenstein over to Dirty Bomb?

I know everything in this game is supposed to be set in London, but it would be fantastic to see Siwa Oasis, Fuel Depot and Gold Rush. ET:W is my favourite multiplayer fps and it would be a lot of fun to play those maps with the mercenaries.

Of course they would need to be tweaked to make sure none of the objectives could be bypassed with trick jumping, but this is my number one request.

Terminal is like Oasis, well, sort of, and Bridge is like Goldrush, well a modified form of Goldrush. Speaking of Goldrush, the EV in Bridge should be CDA colors. If you have played Goldrush in ET, you know what I mean.

One more thing. Why isn’t there a map with a construct primary objective? I don’t mean repair, I mean actually construct, like the assault ramp in battery, or the bridge in fuel dump. If such objectives can’t be done, and things must be repaired instead, how come the only repairing the attackers do is repairing the EV?

A cool way to play is to play the Dirty Bomb maps, but have 5 ET style mercs. Let me explain. These 5 mercs can never be in your squad during normal gameplay, but all 5 are in your squad during ET mode. There are also no loadout cards. Instead, there are empty slots for you to place a weapon on for each of the 5 mercs, and for both primary and secondary weapons, and you do this before the match starts. You have to stick with these weapons for the duration of the match. I’ll explain what I mean below for each class.

All 5 classes has Fragger’s grenades. They are a weapon, not an ability.
They all have the combat knife.

Each class has a primary secondary weapon slot, and can be used for pistols only.

The Assault has 4 weapon slots, one customizable slot for the assault rifle, one customizable slot for the LMG, and the other 2 is the Nader’s grenade launcher and Rhino’s minigun, to represent the heavy weapons in ET. You can fire 4 grenades before you have to wait for cooldown. The Assault has no special abilities. What I mean by customizable slot is that you can place any weapon in that slot provided it is of that weapon type. If the rocket launcher is done and released, maybe there can be a 5th weapon slot for that weapon. Firing one rocket causes a cooldown time.

The medic has only one slot, and that is a customizable slot for the submachineguns. The medic first ability is Sparks medpacks. You can toss out 4 before you have to wait for a cooldown. The second ability is the defibrillators. You only get 10 charges, or 10 revives.

The engineer has 2 customizable weapon slots. One for SMG, the other for shotguns. Repair tool, arming tool, and diffuse tool is exclusive to this class. The first ability is the C4 ability, where you can plant the C4 whereever you want. There is a cooldown period after you plant C4. The second ability is Proxy’s mines. You can plant 2 of them before a cooldown period. Both the C4 and the mines share the same cooldown period. If you use mines, you can’t plant C4 until your energy is recharged.

The fire support has 1 customizable weapon slot reserved for SMGs. The first ability is Skyhammer/Arty’s ammo pack. You can toss out 4 before you can toss no more, and you have to wait for a cooldown period. The second abiltiy is Skyhammer’s airstrike, and you can toss only 1 before a cooldown. The third ability is Arty’s artillery strike, and you can use it once before cooldown. The artillery strike, airstrike, and ammo packs all share the same cooldown, so if you toss ammo, you can’t use airstrikes until your energy is recharged.

The recon has 3 customizable weapons slots. 1 is for machine pistols, the second is for assault rifles, and the third is for sniper rifles. The first ability is Fletcher’s sticky bombs. You can only throw one before you have to wait for cooldown. The sticky bombs aren’t thrown as far, and they do the same damage as 2 sticky bombs together. The second ability is Redeye’s smoke. You only get to throw one smoke before cooldown. The third ability is Phantom’s invisibility. While active, it drains the energy. Both the sticky bombs, smoke, and invisibility share the same energy bar.

So what do I mean by weapons slots? In ET, Soldiers have access to SMG, MG42, Flamethrower, Panzerfaust, and Mortar. Medics only have access to SMG, Engineers have access to SMG and rifle nades. Field ops have access to only SMG, and covert ops has access to sten, FG42, and sniper. The way I explained the weapons slots and what weapon type can be used for these slots is as follows:

SMGs are SMG
MG42 is LMG
Flamethrower is Rhino’s Minigun
Panzerfaust is the unreleased rocket launcher
Mortar is Nader’s grenade launcher
Rifle nades are shotguns
Sten is machine pistol
FG42 is assault rifle
Sniper is sniper.

There are exceptions. Instead of Soldiers/Assaults getting a SMG, they get an assault rifle instead. Engineers don’t get rifle grenades. They get shotguns, and the actual analog to the rifle grenade, the grenade launcher, will take the spot of the Soldier’s mortar.

We know that in ET, you go to the limbo menu, you select class, and you select weapons right? As I said, you get 5 mercs specific to this mode, that, as I explained, is a clone of the 5 ET classes, and you can only use these 5 mercs specific to this game mode. You can switch between them when you respawn. The difference is that you can select the weapon. One primary weapon slot means you can select only that weapon. 3 means you have a choice between 3 primary weapons. Remember that I said that there are customizable weapon slots? Dirty bomb has multiple weapons of the same type, such as BR16, M4A1, Dreiss AR for assault rifles. The thing about customizable weapon slot is that before the match, you can place any of the assault rifles in the assault rifle slot, and it doesn’t have to be the same assault for the Assault and Recon class. You can slot the M4A1 for the Assault, and you can slot the Dreiss AR for the Recon for example.

So this may blow your mind, but the 5 classes are as I said, a clone of ET classes, and instead of using only FG42s, or Stens, instead, you can customize any weapon in that slot before the match, provided it is of the correct type, as I listed above.

Oh well, at least we can still play ET on modern operating systems.
