in the editor make a square brush of any size. with the brush selected press the ‘curves’ menu on the top row of buttons. this will produce a dropdown menu. select the option called ‘end cap’ for a full arch or ‘bevel’ for a half arch. now press the change view button (second row of buttons has xyz on it) until you can see the arch properly in the editor.
now assuming all that worked for you you should be able to see an outline of an arch. now while you still have it selected you can pull it, push it ect to change its size just like a normal brush. once you have it at the correct size go to the ‘curves’ dropdown menu again and select the option called ‘cap selection’. this will make a small window appear with four options to choose from. press ‘inverted endcap’ to make the sides of the arch. now thats the basics of making arches.
when you come to texturing them apply a texture to the desired arch surface and press ‘shift+s’ to bring up the pacth surface inspector. For the middle bit of the arch simply select this face and press the natural button then close the pacth surface inspector (sometimes pressing apply or ok messes things up ir at leats it does for me). now to get the textures on the front and back surfaces looking right apply the desired texture to the desired surface and press 'shift+s again. again press natural and close the patch surface inspector. Now look at the textured face and hold down shift+control then press n to cycle through fitting the texture properly until you get to the one that looks right.
opps thats a bit long winded. basically everything you want for making arches can be found in the curves drop down and everything you might want to do textureing your arches can be found in the patch surface inspector by pressing shift+s and playing around with it. if you need any more info then this clearly explain what you want to do and if i can help i’ll try to explain.
